Once upon a time three weeks ago, I posted this image to mixed comments
(comments found here, since no one but me would ever go back 7 pages to find it:

My reaction is this:

I attempted to lose the slasher movie mood of the first image in the favor of subtlety and allegory. Did I improve it or mess it up?

Woah...the first one is definately more overtly creepy. I like it.

The second one...eh...it's a good painting, but I'm not sure. The sickle almost looks out of place on the table..she doesn't much look like a killer, even a killer trying to hide it. I just don't sense any connection between the disparate pieces of the composition.

And what's with the wierd blue and green rooms?

Still very good works, just not entirely sure you achieved the effect you were going for in the second one.

(First one still creeped me out..honestly at first I thought she had a cigar in her mouth...when it solidified in my head to another set of teeth I was like "woah!" :D )

almost 48 hours and no other reactions? fukifino, despite his name, does in fact know all? How about anatomy, rendering, color choices, composition?

F. i do appreciate your comments. I was aiming this one towards autumn, personifying the time between the summer and winter (the two rooms). A little unclear, I suppose, but I didn't want to make it overly obvious.

I like both of these. Possibly a bit too much red in the skin tones of the first painting. Other than that I think they archieved the mood you were looking for. Wonderful.

I like the second one better. It is somehow more interesting to me, possibly because the meaning is more subtle. It also doesn't have that distracting "half face" thing going on. I really like the second one.
