I love how both their styles have merged in some ways, or maybe they just colab. Really spectacular work by both of them, must be so inspiring having your SO also in the same field, doing the same type of art and working directly with you. :girl:

Those kids will be doing this type of work by the age of 2.
By the age of 10, the world will end.

This begs the question: who's inspired by who? Who originally had the core of this look that the other fed from? Or did they miraculously have the same style.... that would be eerie :$

haha, go jelena!
i speculate the marko influence will die down over the years, but in the mean time, its awfully cute that they paint similar and both work in comics. way to go marrying your artistic hero, your children will be talented and gorgeous...

Man, God forbid anyone gets a partner you lot have heard of and actually expects to get some credit for their own work! I mean like wow! She's almost as good as a man!!

This shit is great - the Deathlok cover is worthy of Nox in terms of form and colour. Also terrific graphic treatment. Kickass work, really.

Well, the Marko influence is fairly evident. Not a denigration of her sex by any means, and the work is unarguably terrific by any measure.

One thing I always notice about the wives of artists is that their style is very similar to that of their husbands.

here is another example of a wife who paints like her husband!

Her style has indeed changed a lot, if you haven't been to her website before, I'd check it out. Her art now is an almost complete departure from the stuff I saw earlier.

If Marvel wants a specific style from her, that's what she gives them.

Um, not to speak for DirtyC, but it looked to me like he was sarcastically paraphrasing other's comments.

just stop the worthless "omg she's a woman! and she can draw!" babbling. that really does not belong to our century indeed.
She's a great artist and anyone's style is of his own choice. so let's just cut the crap about the marko influence, i see nothing bad in that. or have you never looked over your shoulder and tried to get the best out of the person next to you?
and as a personal note: she can definitely line up a large number of us guys and kick our artistic asses so let's just enjoy this fine art and give it the credit it deserves.
Go Jelena!.

OK so I've just had my american flatmate read what I said and I think that my antipodean/english brand of sarcasm doesn't make sense alla the time over here.

So, because I don't want to have some stupid arsed fight when I was actually attempting to praise work I consider genuinely praiseworthy, I'm going to take the extraordinary step of explaining myself to a group of strangers on the Internet.

I was trying to point out that regardless of where somebody learned something, the work is their own and they deserve credit. If you ever work your butt off and everyone stands round talking about your teacher, trust me, you'll be annoyed. And given that I'm currently learning from a guy who taught Marko a hell of a lot, I think that Jelena deserves a bit more credit than simply stating how important Marko's influence is. Being able to learn requires more than a good teacher. And the compositions I see here are totally different to the work I've seen Marko do in covers.

Frankly I feel most silly explaining this, but like I said, the comment was meant originally as one of sole praise for her work. The 'almost as good as a man' comment was meant as sarcasm, I promise you. My last girlfriend was in fact a brilliantly talented artist and could compose, paint and calligrify my arse into a corner any day of the week. I learnt more from her than she ever learnt from me and I see no need to defend my equalitarian credentials any more than that.

Now go back to praising the work, please - I feel silly enough already.

Jesus, i'd marry Marko just so he could teach me some shit... lol

well, interests in art usually skips a generation from what i've been able to gather, so maybe their grand kids!!!
