This painting is based on dream I had a few weeks ago. Made with Photoshop 7 and Painter 7.

Enjoy.

Man, does that look great, or what? The water is completely awesome, and those orange orb thingys are awesome too! You really created a mysterious effect with this piece! As the orby things go back though, you may want to fade them and add more of a blue to them. It would look more realistic rather than having it look like the same image copied and pasted over and over. You may also want to have the water be a little crazier to the closer ones. It doesn't really seem logical that 5 feet or so (i think) would make one orb interact with the water in a different way. Maybe its just me. Please only consider these, don't go jumping into the cold water :) I'm just a newb

mos...great points...I did tone down the color of the orbs as they went back...maybe not enough,

As fars as the craziness of the water...I definetly did think of that when i was doin the piece and, in fact, tried on a layer...I didn't like it as much. Plus in the dream...there was this lead orb that seemed to be more powerful than the rest, ya know.

Yeah! When I first saw this my eyes immediately went to the middle, where the supposed leader was. I thought this was so, and was going to say something like make him stand out more (brighter framer, different color, darker values around it..) This is a very interesting piece, now that I look over it again.

I'm jealous of your skills. Your dreaming skills :) I wish my dreams were like that.

Again...

mos...you are way to kind. I do think you're points where very observant. I may do a couple tweaks on this piece...a few of the comments on this and other forums seem really on the money. Thanks

Odin Six...I guess it is kinda Cocoon like...COOL

The detail in this piece is crazy! Can I ask how long this took? and also what resolution this piece is?

hey...thanks again for all you kind words on the piece...I know it's a bit wierd.

Groover McNab: This piece took about a week. I haden't really painted water like this before so I spent a lot of time looking at foamy water and waves etc. This piece is massive, I always work big, it's 4500 by 3400 and clocked in at about 600 megs. I like layers way to much!
