Greetings all,

Group Six Films is in need of an artist for a film proposal package. We are in the final stages of acquiring the rights to a well-known science fiction novel written by a major Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author.

Artist will create four (4) full-color 2.35:1 panels depicting scenes (like extremely polished, detailed storyboards) to be used in the printed proposal and on the production website. Artist will be paid a total of $1000US for the artwork, which is DEFERRED, at the latest, until the initial development investment is attained ($50,000). If film rights are acquired, Artist will retain rights to their work with only a few non-disclosure limitations.

We are looking for an artist to build a relationship with who would be interested in being the key concept artist for the groundbreaking film, as a fully paid principle crew member on the production. Artists of all styles will be considered, females encouraged to apply (the story has a feminist slant). Must be strong in realistic character design, architecture/landscape, and composition.

If this interests you, please contact us through the email below with links to your artwork (preferred) or attachments no larger than 1.5MB. Applicants that interest us will be contacted with more information, such as the title of the novel in question (this is only done for security purposes). Thanks!

This is a non-paying spec job posted in the wrong forum.

'Deferred payment' doesn't exist.

Yes, this post can be broken down as a non-paying spec job. Thanks for correcting this oversight. We termed it "deferred" payment to insinuate that we do not intend to leave the artist hanging out to dry if this proposal is successful.

To address the above question: If the proposal fails, then all parties involved will lose, including us (Group Six Films). All rights will remain with the artist and hopefully we will have established a good working relationship and team up on future projects. We are looking for artists who are seeking new, high-quality opportunities in the motion picture industry.

Good for you to explain the situation. I'm sure plenty of people will be interested. Good luck!
