a pencil sketch and color test: this is for a little contest i'm on. This is only half the drawing, since my scanner is too small to scan the whole thing.

This is still very rough, so I can't really critique on it. But it seems like a good start. Just continue adding details and post updates. And change the white background. White is evil, makes colors look muted or something ;)

Why don't you just scan in the other half, and join them together in Photoshop, or whatever program you're using?

It'll help us to know the full composition, without it you curtail our ability to critique that aspect.

I love the upper body, but the lower body -- the leg area -- looks rather static. Not much dynamism there... is that a part of the body that isn't articulated? If that's the case, then I suggest you put a healthy dust cloud over that area to lessen it's importance and pop the arm forward.

The placement of the abdomen trunk looks wrong. It needs to come to the right quite a bit.

Maybe re-think that whole bottom area... drop it down, or crop it inward, or something... it seems awful crowded to me.

Other than that, I think you've got the makings of a kickass mecha!
