View Full Version : Your Most Hated Band?

Jacob Kobryn

Hi,
I thought as there was a favorite band thread that we could also have a hated band thread.
For me my most hated band is by far Rush. Listening to them is like have my ear drums raped. I think if I had access to explosives and it was legal, I would kill each member of that band. Worst music. Ever.

Ok. What's yours?

IŽd say a tie between My chemical romance and evanescence. Nothing is worst than hearing their crappy wannabegoth lame emo songs >:| cant stand them.

In second place there is simple plan, and maroon 5.

I would have put Avril Lavigne on first but thought it may not count as a band  Anyway, special mention cause i definitely hate her music.

That's a lot of bands you're disregarding just because of guitars - probably a third of the musical realm of EVERYTHING. :\

Maybe you just haven't heard the right kind of music with guitar in them?

Well, the topic asked for the most hated bands. And I hate everything that pretends to be alternative rock. Or, basically I don't like alternative rock, no matter if it's good or bad. Or maybe I just think that music isn't half as important as most people think it is...

I don't know what band I hate the most because I hate a few genres so bad I never listen to enough of it to hear the worst ones.

I would say 50 cent, or any modern rappers. I love older rap, but most of it now, at least most of it on the radio now, is some of the most crap I have ever heard. Not because it's "mainstream" and thusly uncool, or because "I don't like vulgar musics", but because, from what I hear, it just seems so talentless. With exceptions (Atmosphere comes to mind instantly) of course, it says the same thing over, and over, and over, and overer. The drum loops are getting lamer and lamer and they steal whatever awesome 'jamz' they can from underground techno scenes. So much of what people actually listen to is so superficial that the lyrics actually make me angry. They say their name in the song all the time like people wouldn't know who they are. They buy the freaking music don't they? If everyone genre did that I would likely stop listening to anything with voices in it.

I think the only bands who deserve my hate are the ones that combine being awful with unexplained popularity. There are a ton of shitty artists out there but I never have to listen to them on the radio or see them on a shitty "that's what I call rock: volume 11" compilation commercial. Any obviously shitty musician that intrudes on my scope of usual media indulgence makes my list of bands I hate.

Creed, Evanescence, Linkin Park, Nickelback, limp biscuit, and pretty much any contemporary Pop, all country and most hip-hop.

Tipper Gore had it all wrong. Explicit music doesn't cause violent urges. Bad music does. For instance, Listening to Creed makes me want to kill Creed. Seriously. I want to fillet Scott Stap and bury Fred Durst alive. I... I feel strangely compelled. As for the isane Clown Posse, despite how much they suck, I really only want to kill their mouth-breathing, troglodyte, finger-sniffing fans. They are walking abortions.

Oh yeah. Korn. I forgot korn. The band of whiny, musically shallow assholes who, after over a decade, still whine about how much their lives suck ass and write lyrics with about the same amount of emotional depth and fake machismo as a 14 year old backyard wrestler but with the melodrama that makes most emos want to say "man the fuck up, nancy". I would've though that combination was impossible but there it is. They seem to consistantly ponder suicide in their lyrics. Aparently their lives suck so much that they keep making the same albums just to remind us all. The sheer misery in being middle aged, extremely wealthy drama queens with persecution complexes is unbearable... So unlike Stapp and Durst, I wish no harm to them. Except for that one who found Jesus and wrote a book on how you need religion to save yourself from being a rich white asshole who spends all his money on speed and hookers. Oh yeah, tune your fucking instruments.

Lamb of God is among one of the best musically talented
bands out there. I used to hate them too. I'll I thought it
was, was screaming, grinding the guitar, and a ridiculous
cacophony of drumming. Not so in any way. Randy Blythe
has a very unique and distinguishable voice, Mark Morton
has his own line of signature guitars now and has been
featured in many guitar magazines including: Guitar World,
and Chris Adler is by far one of the most innovative and
technical drummers out there, or at least when it comes
to the Metal Genre.
Metallica is classic and Iron Maiden is AWESOME, Bruce
Dickinson probably has one of the most trademark voices
out there, along with AC/DC.

Wow, I only went to the 3rd page thinking it was the beginning.

Geddy Lee: Has a very unique voice and it's calming. He's known
as one of the most innovative and talented bassists around. He
is also an amazing synthesist, while he plays bass.
Oh and on top of all of that, he sings while playing it all.

Alex Lifeson: Alex to me is probably among the best guitar riff writers
out there. The material he writes, both electric and acoustic, are spectacular
none the less. His solos are great, lengthy, and full of pure talent.

Neil Peart: Hahaha, this is what gets me. Neil Peart is argueably the best
drummer ever. He's won countless awards- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Peart#Awards_and_honours
I don't even want to go into this one.

my chemical whatev. and all who follow their trend. get a haircut, start actually singing, and take drugs,so you're atleast honest with your texts, you fuckin pseudo-emo loosers.
i can only give slight credit to jaret leto for actually having a good singing voice when he isn't screaming like a cat on a hot stove.

and nelly. i fucking want to drive over him with a truck. he's the embodiment of everything that's wrong with rap nowadays. bland, repetitive big-boob,bling-bling bubblegum pop shit. i hate him so bad.

sorry to say though, limp bizkit still appeal to me,although mostly because of nostalgia.

korn, they just can't play any instruments at all, their songs are so bland and boring. If you youtube "korn instrumental" you will know exactly what I mean, pretty much most nu-metal bands suck. Though nu-metal tends to be mainstream "metal" I'm not someone who is against mainstream just for being mainstream, 60s rock was great, <3 Cream.

As for Lamb of God being the WORST? No way. Even if you don't like the sound, you can't say they aren't extremely talented, Chris Adler is a god at drums. I don't like how so many people say rap sucks too, at least what I see, people need to give more genres of music a chance, some music is popular for a good reason and not just marketing. I'm a metalhead but theres some rap that I love aswell.

As for my best album of 2008 so far I'd have to give it to the Swedish Pirate Metal band Alestorm's Captain Morgan's Revenge, because it's about fucking pirates http://www.myspace.com/alestorm
My best album of 2007 is Colors from Between the Buried and Me, I listened to this for months cause it nailed my love for progressive music and death metal almost perfectly... almost :(.

Tom DeLonge in Angels and Airwaves. Doesn't fit, and the music would be great without him.

I gotta defend U2 here, because there are really 2 U2's out there. Pre 1990 and Post. The Joshua Tree was an incredible album, and the ones before it were full of life too. After the Joshua Tree, however, I completely agree, although "All That You Can't Leave Behind" had some good songs on it, minus "Stuck in a Moment".

I have to honestly say though that I usually find something from most genres/bands that I like. Creed's first album, for example, wasn't nearly as wretched as their later stuff.

Country. Sucks.

Especially when you live in a place full of rednecks who love to play country everyday, and you're favorite genres of music are things like heavy metal and techno. :( It makes my ears bleed when I forget my mp3 player, because SOMEONE at school is going to be playing country.

Country makes me die a little on the inside when I hear it.

Believe me, its not that bad, you havent heard "llaneras", is something like venezuelan country music, most songs sounds the same, if you hear a full "contrapunteo" album is a known fact your ears will bleed and your braincells will start melting.
By goverment regulation all radio stations are forced to play this stuff trough all day long. I dont care how flokloric is this crap, i live in an urban center and i just dont care for crappy tunes about horses and cows, without a cd player on traffic, i usually rather hear the motor noise.

:( Come on.
I personally think is a matter of taste, theres a lot of bashing towards them but there is a hell of a lot of worst bands out there, and they do have some good instruments, yeah, yeah, they are a studio band and Herman Lee relies heavily on pedals, but still...

Lots of people hate them just out of hating all power metal , power metal is one of the genres i like, and although im not too big into dragonforce,i do like a some of their songs. They are not the best in the genre but they are not the worst either. They are sort of wathever.

and another one... I hate metallica since st anger, is a different band, they have a good discography behind them, i even cut some slack to reload and garage inc , but no way, st anger is just garbage to me.

I hate poison too, and glam and hair metal in general are not genres i fancy.

Dragonforce isn't good live definitely, but some of their studio stuff is good for the sake of music. Cry For Eternity, for example.

A few other bands that I hate:
Slipknot... just personal taste. Emo screaming, untalented, and the masks are lame.

They are walking abortions.

i've never liked the band creed for their signature sound of their singers voice. i don't know his name but the way he sings irritates me to no end.

Also i can't stand all the emo bands out there that copy each other and worship the cure and the ramones. The whole emo thing created a generation of clueless idiots who want everyone to feel bad for them. I'm not going to say everyone who dresses like that is exactly the same but by and large i feel that over many other trends that have hit the U.S that was one of the worst.

Last of all i can't stand it that there isn't any good bands coming out similar to tool, nine inch nails, etc. I mean, there is bands like them out there but i don't think they are as original or have such an original sound as the two mentioned bands. It seems like many bands are just copying each other and the bands that used to be good, are jumping on this bandwagon of a musical sound that doesn't sound very good.
