Our amateur development team is currently in dire need of a conceptual artist. Our staffed artist, Dan, has run off to university to get an "education", and so we need someone to jump on board and fill the talent gap.

The job itself it pretty straightforward, and theres only a few requirements. The art you'll be creating itself is for an original computer game called Red Planet. The concept art will be used for a number of different things which include, a jumping point for ideas, reference material for 3D modelling, and web showcasing. A story line and any other information you're interested in can be sent/posted upon request.

Requirements:

- You MUST be creative. The game itself is post-nuclear, so creativity in terms of design is important to keep things interesting. Things you might be working on include Mutants, Characters, and Animal-like monsters.

- You must be reliable and contactable. Communication is essential. This means no cocaine binges where you're unable to use your email for a week and a half. :P

- The ability to draw in a style similar to Dan's is an advantage, but not required.

- Experience is an advantage, but certainly not required.

- The ability to draw environments and buildings is plus but certainly not required.

Conceptual Examples: (What we are looking for in terms of skill level)

Example Work (Dan's)

Sketch 1 (ftp://68.144.137.140/Misc/bifront.jpg)
Sketch 2 (ftp://68.144.137.140/Misc/biside.jpg)
Concept 1 (ftp://68.144.137.140/Misc/s2.jpg)

Example Work (Not Dan's)

Concept 1 (ftp://68.144.137.140/Misc/Examples/conceptdemo1.jpg) ( Don't let this scare you away, we certaily are not expecting something like thi from you. It serves as an example only. :P)
Concept 2 (ftp://68.144.137.140/Misc/Examples/conceptdemo2.jpg) (Same goes for this one)
Concept/Sketch 3 (ftp://68.144.137.140/Misc/Examples/monsterSketch%5B1%5D.gif) (Personally, my favortive example piece)

Things to note:

- There are NO SET HOURS. You can work on your own schedule. Deadlines are usually imposed on a bi-weekly basis, but even then we are pretty lax.

- I'm willing to work on a reward system whereby I'll purchase a game or something off amazon.com once at the end of every month if we are on track and connecting well.
