I am an LA based screenwriter/director who has a finished feature screenplay with good coverage interested in exploring the possibilities of turning it into a graphic novel. I have had several producers make the suggestion that it might help them market the script into a production deal.
The story is a supernatural thriller with sci-fi elements. It takes place in a gritty New York City environ: A combination of "The Mothman Prophecies" and "The Ring" with a little "French Connection" thrown in. With that said, there is a strong central character who approaches his epic dilemma (saving the world) from an intimate, psychologically personal approach.
I am looking for an artist to collaborate with me in putting together a couple of sample pages, including character sketches. I then would like to pitch the idea, directly to publishers and my producer contacts to try and bring in development money to turn it into a full-blown graphic novel... And then eventually a film.
There is no money at the outset. But one never knows... Down the road.
Thanks.
