Hi,
This is my first post, and I'm a bit apprehensive about posting this here after seeing the level of quality of the other pieces, but I could really do with some pointers (I realise I have some symmetry issues). It’s supposed to be an Atlantean queen. Thanks,
Ed

Pretty cool. Could be just me, but the big thing above and behind her head was smudged or something - doesn't really seem to match the style of the rest of the image. Good concept and execution overall, she seems almost egyptian-influenced to me.
PS - I don't think that the front of her throat is quite right - almost looks like someone's spine. Don't take my crits harshly, I don't know the first thing about Art, but it seemed noone else was replying.

She's kind of tilted ;) But I think you know about that.
Just keep on refining and adding detail, and this'll become a very good piece, me thinks!

Thanks for the comments. Yes jkior, it is very definitely influenced by ancient Egypt. She is supposed to be Atlantean so I wanted her to look like she was from an ancient civilisation – I was going for a cross between ancient Egypt and something oriental. I am not sure if I pulled this off. I also agree that her neck’s a bit weird. I was trying to make it look almost like part of a spine to add to her almost alien appearance, but It just looks wrong. Her headdress needs rethinking also.
Yes, I know she’s tilted ;) – this picture needs a lot of work.
Btw, don’t worry, I don’t take the crits harshly, I really welcome them.
Cheers guys,
Ed

Looks like it was done in painter....erm......
Anyways things that might help it:
maybe not to look face on....makes her look more flat
more shade, shadows etc , as said before looks abit flat esp the head piece, and face.
neck has no muscle defention, thing around neck also looks v.flat...also could be abit more bigger around neck looks abit too tight...
overall:
just needs a more defined light source so that the picture looks less flat...
reminds me abit of stargate, not a bad thing though...
ps... painter......... NOPE! :)

I like idea of atlantide :) ...And im agree with gaz about flattnes... This piece need stronger lights, and try to simplyfie it. There is lot of details, and I think this disturbs you while doing more important things (like depth).
Also neck hole in sheild is too horisontal. Rotate it a bit.

slap some earings on 'er
perhaps some jewlrey of some sort. .. .. ... ... she's royalty; think hand fashioned to portray ancient culture.
sharpen her up to pull her away from the background
LOOKIN' like a quality piece.

Ah, very fine piece of work indeed. I like the colours, shes the cool type of girl. ;)
I feel the need for a little more "crispness" somewhere - some fine details (you´ll probably not gone that far in this piece - probably its coming next).
It needs some tiny details in the scribblings and some highligts and maybe a little shadow. This could be great indded. :D
