Hello all! I'm working to build my end-of-college-looking-for-jobs portfolio, and wanted to take a break from it to ask these questions to you all (keep in mind I'm asking you all to share your individual preferences, as well as any given standards that someone might know about):

1. How many pages is YOUR portfolio? How many pages is the average portfolio? I understand master portfolios (the kind you whittle down and change around for different perspective employers) will have lots of pages, but I'm specifically speaking about the one that you would actually mail out.

2. What do you package your portfolio in? A clear report cover? A hard-back portfolio? A black vinyl cover? Are there any designs on said folder/cover/binding? Is it just one color? Is that color black?

3. What is on the front of your portfolio? A title? Your name? Nothing (read: all information is on the title page)? What does your title page look like? Do you include any of your art, or leave that for the inside? Do you title your portfolio (read: "Insidious Designs" or "Fluffy Bunnies", etc.)?

Any other added tidbits will of course be greatly welcomed. Thanks in advance!

Mine is in a basic black poly flexible binder with very ordinary plastic sheets inside. They won't care about the binder (unless you are building your portfolio for a snotty school) they will care about what's in it. Mine is rather ragtag as content goes, meaning it's good stuff, just not very organised. Website speaks for itself tho, since chances are they will see it BEFORE your interview and will have made a good idea about your work by then. In fact, if your website sucks, chances are you won't even get to show your pretty portfolio in person.

I answered some similar questions here (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=117237), you might find it useful.
