View Full Version : DSG 1328: Sci-Fi: LUXURY YACHT'S SUPER-LOADED FANTASY JUMP-JET

[ Emphasis is on the jump-jet, and not on the yacht... ]
[ So... if you choose to show the jet in the air, and have the yacht be off in the distance, that's fine. ]
[ Remember, this is Sci-Fi, so you can really deck this thing out and it need bear no resemblance whatsoever to current-day jump jets. ]
[ Sorry took so long for new topic. ]

Yup, that is the 'Yacht' up there in the sky... this is Sci-Fi after all. I think maybe I should have put racing stripes on the jump-ship and a few more engine outlets near the front to get the ideal of VTOL capability across better. oh-well.
edit: I was happy enough with my initial sketch to think it worthy of a little reworking over the last few evenings and have naughtily switched my original with the updated version.

More literal than sci-fi. I think i rushed it.
Edit: Joined the re-edit gang. But still problems with perspective and symmerty, ahh well.

Edit: Redo. Just trying to improve on the original concept a bit more.

Original. (http://entervault.net/img/npb_dsg_1328.jpg)
Backstory: Mr. Anthony Wesley was an extremely wealthy man. He had made his fortune by taking huge financial risks in the commercial aerospace industry and it paid off big time when his company invented the means for interstellar space travel. So when his ten year old daughter asked him for her very own jump-jet, fashioned after her favorite robot nanny, "Sir Care-a-Lot," Mr. Wesley didn't even bat an eyelid. When the jump-jet was finally finished, he took time out of his busy schedule, and personally delivered the craft to the luxury yacht his daughter was spending her summer vacation on. Needless to say, she was very surprised to see the "jet", and even more so when Mr. Wesley whisked her into the hull with his company's cutting-edge tractor-beam technology. In the hull, Mr. Wesley had a stern look on his face.
"Now, young lady you will have to take your seat in the co-pilot's chair..." Then, he smiled broadly.
"Let's go see what she can do."

at first I thought, it's definitely not for me (I prefer organic things, especially humans and can't draw anyway), but these topics are irresistible, I finally have some idea... after some sleep and work I will grab my pencil :)

Looks like I've misinterpreted "yacht's jumpjet" for "jumpjet yacht"...

Like they way the layout is going, just needs more details.
Everyone has such clean lines and nice detail. I'll get there some day.

I took jump jet literally, lol...

After having Painter crash on me as I tried to save the last version of this, as well as the backup scripts not working, I attempted to re-finish this picture and fell short... regardless, it turned out mostly how I wanted it.

my version, at last... the actual drawing was quick (below 15 minutes, I think, beforehand I sketched a few jump-jets, hoping I am able to control its angle. well, no...)
