This is a sketch for my first studio project this year. I'm not sure on the sketch in many ways and require some feedback.

EDIT: The raising of the flag is based on a historic picture and for the final sketch IO will most likely use it as a reference.
Basically I need to choose my colours and ensure the subjects are rendered to a fair amount of authenticity. I'll be working with acrylics and really could use some help on the project please. Anything else that you believe I should work on besides this and getting more experience would be great. Thanks.

Redid the compisition and put a bit of colour on it. Basic colour ok? Just to get my pallette going, its going to be done in acrylics, however I don't know if I could keep it greyscale. The colours are just there for reference as opposed to actually finished piece, I cannot stress that enough.
