I've got a major problem with my tablet. I bought it about 2 weeks ago, and with it, a program called art rage came. I think that artrage is some crap, so I continued working in GIMP. Suddenly yesterday, It got all weird, and didn't respond to my color choice, and the pressure thing with getting deeper colors as harder you press, was set on, and I can't get it away. It can only paint black now, but everything works in that artrage program. The name of the tablet is Wacom Volito 2. Please help.

I use GIMP as well and have a Wacom Intuos and I've had some issues myself and have had to develop work arounds.

Firstly, I would suggest that you make sure you have a clean install of the most recent version of GIMP. I've noticed that it helps to uninstall it and go into your .gimp-2.X folder in the C: \Documents and Settings\User settings and delete the menurc file. This file holds some preferences for shortcut keys and, as I've noticed, can cause some interesting interface issues if you don't get rid of it when upgrading to a new version of GIMP.

Another thing I've noticed with my GIMP install is that if you start the program with your tablet in hand (i.e. using the stylus to double click on the icon) it works fine with the tablet. But if you start it up with your mouse and then switch to the tablet, it loses a lot of responsiveness.

Hopefully, this will be a little helpful.

Thanks to you for the help, but unfortunately it didn't work... It's weird, 'cause it worked just two days ago..
Edit: I went into some configurations, and played around with them. After I clicked the save button it closed the program, and now it works :)

Gah, now it's doing it again. And this time messing around with configurations didn't work.... I'm gonna take my tablet and computer down to the place I bought the tablet, and if they can't get it to work, I'm Gonna ask here what software people would reccomend me to buy (Doesn't have money for Photoshop, but something like Painter X looks like it'd fit nicely with my money amount....
