Is an ebony pencil made of graphite? I noticed it is more smoother than even a 6B or any soft pencil. There is something about it that is different from regular graphite.......anyone know any details?

Yes, it's just a very soft graphite pencil with a fat lead.

off topic:

i love art classes where you pay a $70 art fee on top of the tuition for the class to cover some of supplies the course needs that the instructor says they'll provide.

and then they hand you a $0.65 Ebony pencil and act as though they are handing out the last pennies from their pocket to the student.

i cant tell you how many $70 Ebony pencils ive been given.

on topic: yeah just as elwell said, soft lead, and not even of any real notable quality. ive always prefered staedtler pencils.
