Hello there conceptart.org fellow members, I am doing a research paper on Concept Art for college and I am searching for at least 3 highly successful concept artists(both financially or fame-wise) of today. I am doing this for a Game Art and Design program, but it doesn't have to be game concept artists.
I've been looking for a few hours for some but I do not think I am searching under the right terms :( If you know of any really successful concept artists of these past couple years, please alert me to their names, and any link you may have to their art site on an example of what they've worked on :)

On a side but related note, I am also looking for the names of some successful concept artists of the 1930s or so when the term Concept Art came into use significantly(by the animation industry).

Any help at all on these would be massively aprecieated as I am having trouble finding much information on my own on successful concept artists.

Oh, here come the 1,000 "I'm the most sucessfull" replies, lol.

Ok, but just to get this question out of the way by sucessfull do you mean the best paid, the one that has the greatest inflewence in concept art...

You question is kinda vague, because you can strip this sort of thing into about 100 sub-catagories.

disclaimer: I don't have a freaken clue who would be, I'm a noob LOL!

Odd I thought I put in "Financially and/or Fame-Wise"
Let me restate that.
Who is some of the most successful concept artists(most popular to be used by companies and such, or ones making the most money over all(though I know the baseline for money making in concept art is pretty standard regardless), I.e. getting the most jobs, or at least really high profile jobs.)

There is no ''Best Concept Artist'' or most successful like you said. You might want to look and browse in the ''best of CA'' section and send a PM at those you like, I doubt someone will jump up and raise his hand after what you said.

And about the 30's, the only known artists coming up to my head will be someone like Loomis or maybe Syd Mead ( really not sure about Syd at this time tho). Concept at this time was mostly publicity and car design...

Okay cool, thats fine, just looking for any kind of concept artist that were known by name for the 30s :)

As for the "best" concept artists, I am asking if anyone knows of anyone not nessecarily if they meet those qualifications themselves(I am surprised there isn't more popular or well known artists :( ). I'm going to start searching for other language popular/successful artists at this point since i can't find any english language sites with any.

well Ryan Church is pretty successfull, thats a start...if you go to the gno.mon (without the full stop) website and look at the artists who have instructor DVD's, you find some successfull artists, or maybe pick up imagine FX magasine/some kind of concept art book (the skillfull huntsman to name one) and see who takes your fancy....I'm no expert, but those should give you some idea of successfull (albeit not THE most successfull) people.
