Hi all,

i could use some feedback on this one, whats good, whats bad, whats what and so on. I would say its about 50% done, or, with other words, im willing to spend about 2 or 3 more hours on it, so no mayor changes, like exchanging one of the mechs with a Ford or something..

My major worry right now is that the pic may be too dark. I really need some feedback on this. My screen has seen better days and often displays colour and values in misleading ways.

All comments appreciated. Cheers all. :)

Love the action in the in it the people in the trenches distract me and take away from the awesome size of the mechs.

I really like this piece! It's awesome! I love the tension in it, like its about to blow off from the paper, really cool. Something that ruins part of this piece for me, thuogh, is the fact that there really isn't anything to define the size of the mechs. Maybe you could put somehting in, like a destroyed car, or the pilot (flying corpse) somewhere. I have no clue, but I just want to see something relative to their size. That would make this piece really awesome!!

mos.

Nice avatar, by the way :D.

EDIT: Are those people on those trench thingies? Wow! I thought they were part of the trench..yikes...

Heres an update. Firstly, thanks for the feedback, it helps a lot.

Im working with tons of layers so its realtively easy to rework things.

Changes: Added a big mech in the front of the composition (rather hard to miss..). Its still rather cartoony, and i dont really like to have it there at all, but i thought i would post it anyhow.

Also added some troopers in the background to give a hint of the size of the mechs. That was also the reason i added that mech in the foreground (theres a 99% chance it will be deleted though, it feels like its blocking the composition).

And, i added some extra sky on the top, to give it some more air, not sure if thats a good thing or not.

And, yeah, i like my avatar too. :D

Open for more feedback. Ill keep posting updates untill its done. Cheers. :)

Edit: I can see now that my troopers in the background is gone, im working in about three times this size and it seems like they disapeared when i shrunk the image..

Hey there. I like the action of the piece. A lot of movement and sponteneity going on here. I'd say bring some sharp, strong highlights into the guys' helmets and the mech leg from the major explosion that's going on. That would tie the piece together a bit more than it currently is. Other than that, I like it a lot. Good work.
P.S. I'd say oust the the mech leg. It DOES block things a bit. I like the "vastness" of the first one more.

I like the Mech in the foreground it does help with the proportions of mech to people. The action of the mech in the foreground distracts me also have you thought about making it destroyed? Perhaps just a leg or something?

Again love what you are doing. Action is really good and I would love to see the mech getting the crap blown out of it the focus of the piece.

Let me know what you think. Im still struggling with the composition as you can see, and i need all the help i can get. Im not very used to doing pictures this scale with background and all.

Tbone-> I smashed the leg up a bit for you. :)

Its done. You can find it in "its finally finished".

btw, theres little change between the last pic posted here and the finished version, so dont expect anything spectacular.

Thanks all for helping out, i learnt a lot from this piece. Cheers! :chug:
