Drawn in Limbo:
painted in limbo.

here is one of my recent work. second complete work on Wacom Intuos Tablet without pencil and paper.
usually my work begins with lines, but this one was important lesson for me because it was volume that controlled the image.

since the image size castrates most of the details, here are afew close up cuts.

it is a picture of two seraphim falling into limbo where exit doesnt exist. a scene from my story [Limbus]

PS7 tutorials on this art peice available on my board:Messy Chill Room (http://www.messstudios.com/bb) mainly focuses on layer handling, and creating atmoshphere and lights.

comments are more than welcome. and hope you like it.

Wow! I am ---AMAZED----! That is just an amazing amount of detail you have in the center orb thing, and on two females! They both look great, with excellent proportions and everything. Very nice job.
Something that makes this piece of work a little odd, though, is the wings. They look great and all, but it doesn't seem like they are under water (which is the impression I get from everything else, the bubbles and flowing tentacles and all). They also seem a bit too light (I think that making the wings darker would make this piece amazing).

Wow.

That orb thing in the middle is amazing, it looks as if it is alive! Do you have that just alone? I would LOVE to see a huge picture of that, detail and all, just the orby thing. It looks really amazing.

Something that is also bugging me a little is how they are kissing. It looks as if they are eskimo kissing (they are kissing, right?) you know, nose to nose.

Man, I don't just like this. I love it!

Great job on it, I hope to see some stuff from you in the future :)

i like this painting,i like it alot, but i don't like the wings that much.i mean, they're nicely drawn and stuff, but somehow they don't look as real as the rest of the picture, almost a bit transparent to me,most of all when looking at the darks and highlights of the two bodies.they're dark with a white outline, but the wings are just white, without real shadows, thus they look somehow flat to me.the rest is just perfect,well-painted and pretty realistic for non-existent scene.:)

I'm liking where this is heading, but I have a nitpick if these are seraphim. From what I recall, seraphim have 6 wings and are male (at least from everything I've read) Having said that, they're both female, one has only two wings and the other has none! If you don't want to change the design (which looks great) then simply rework what they are :P

Anyhow, like I said, nitpicks. Great work y0.

thanks carnifex for your in depth bibiology or angelic knowlege. i knew about the wings being 6. but, wings are simply symbolism, in this picture as well as in stories we hear. i know alot of angels without wings.
i dont undertand about seraphim being all male though... that doesnt sound very fun. like girls. and like em alot. :nana but for the tecnincal side of it, i guess i will just call them Angels for now. infact... the wing was last memont decision to kick up a composition a little better. Also, its liquid form, not feather. it shows better on original 300 dpi... ^^

well, i understand this pic has alot of room for improvement, it was rather a new approach in painting for me. usually line work does all the image control, but this one, it was volume. second piece done on my new wacom... if that could be an exuse. i will make sure to keep everyone's comments in mind. all of them are great, and very helpful. thank you very much.

Angels are supposed to be a-sexual, made of pure energy and all... Could look male or female,so they can still have breasts. ;)
It's true Seraphim have 6 wings (2 to cover face, 2 to cover feet and 2 to fly... don't ask me why, it's just so).
Great piece of work, man, I really dig the action going on...

Some parts a really unbelievable nice, for expample that leg from that lady to the bottom of the picture. I was a little irretated by the sillouette of the upper girl, it looks a little like its cut out. Maybe the light coming from the surface is too much. Great style anyways.

yeah... thats my undying old habit. i cant seem to stop myself from vectoring edges... to me pen tool is as valuable as brushs. Well, my background comes from comic arts, and painting something without pencil lines or inks are so new to me. personal significance to this peice is that the volume was key elements constructing this image, not lines.

Thanks for the comments. and your advice is respectfully taken.

and all of you have given me technical facts regarding "Seraphim," thanks alot. my story featuring these two characters is developing better.
