By far this is the BEST mech game I have ever played, and this game is by far the best FREE game I have ever played.

It's a play-for-free game from NCsoft, I've been playing for about an hour or 2. It's a fairly small file, and the game is pretty simplistic but VERY FUN!! It's done the way mech games SHOULD be done.

if you are bored and you spent all last night painting, I'd say go for this thing! The tutorial is draining- and it is by no means the BEST game ever made, but if you like mechs and you like 3rd person shooters with boosting and swords, then I think you'll like this game quite a bit.

From what I read of the reviews, it's highly skilled based. A great level 1 is still able to beat a level 25. But I'm having a blast playing it- and did I mention it's free? :3

i wish they bring back steel battalion on the 360. but this looks more action based than a simulator.

Dude, what an excellent recommendation, not only because it's a free game with a free online component, but I was amazed on the depth for mech customization. The battle is very entertaining as well. This is a mech game very well done.
Doubt I will be playing this a lot, but my username is Maestro777 in the game.

is it multiplayer/bots only or is there some kind of singleplayer also ?

Nope it is only has multiplayer modes with other users. But they have 4 different modes which gives it more variety.

Also a side note, the game is not compatible with VISTA :S

Great recomendation. I get a big weebo chuby with mech battles. My name on Exteel is the same on the forums. Also you cant miss the hulk paint job on my mecha.

Oh yeah. It does work with Vista...you just get a ocasionaly random error with the new exteel patch. Just keep retrying and it should log you in.
