im sure if anyone has seen any of my stuff you will realize how dark everything is. for some reason i really have a problem with contrast. i need some help on how i can get better contrast when i start out a painting. if jason or andrew (or anyone else) could help out that would really be cool. maybe how you go about getting good contrast. thanks!

i had that problem for a long time (still do, to some extent), especially when working with color... one thing that's helped recently is my drawing class (first ever formal art class... :p) when we've been using charcoal... remember to identify your lightest and darkest values, and your halftones... work from there... sounds pretty stupid, but it's something that i never really took into account before... oddly enough, the value charts that we've had to create in class have helped quite a bit, too...

hope that's of at least some help... :p
