This is a production painting of the main character from a short film I'm working on entitled "Big Bang". I'm still working on it so any comments are welcome. I'm especially interested in C & C on my use of color. I'm definitely a novice when it comes to color and I've tried a use a pretty simple approach here. The character and planet are painted in Photoshop and the background is based on scans of watercolor strokes and splatters that were manipulated in After Effects.

Here's my second pass:

Very cool. Nice children's storybook feel to it.

vnavone, you are a very skilled artist...cool stuff on your site!
The char and the planet are perfect...on the background i would suggest less saturation, it will make the char pop out much more...
fun stuff!

Yeah! So positive! I love idea a lot. I will just remove violet milky way. And right craters are too on front. Make them more elipse.
Keep going. I will like to see some story behind that *)

Well, well, well...ya just never know who's gonna pop up here!
Good to have you with us Victor!
Pixar must not be giving people enough work these days if you've got time to post sumpin'...heheheh...nah, that's just a yoke.
C+C: second one is better, focus stays better on the character; I'd agree with Fozzy'+ Danilo...I'd try a little less saturation on the background too and see if it works better. Nuthin' I can really see with the p'shop test work, unless you wanta give the planet/moon a bit more texture --or--um--implied texture to contrast with the character...just some thoughts...
Keep us posted on the progress, please!
Thanks for postin'
