I noticed that when I save my images to jpg I almost always lost half the color and intensity, I would get different results from different programs. Today I was messing around in the view menu of PS and found that I had been working in CMYK values while windows (and apparently mac) has it's own color system.

Any one have any ideas as to what mode is best to work in for true color? What color settings do you use in PS?

CMYK is for printing output.
RGB is for video output.

The JPEG format uses a lossy compression technique, so it won't be quite as detailed. But most of the time people can't tell the difference when you set it to save at the highest quality. But that's probably something you already knew and won't fix your problem.
