View Full Version : Beltaguise's Sketchbook
January 18th, 2008, 03:13 PM
Hi there, I'm Beltaguise, 19 and currently going to college. I'm not majoring in anything, I'm just taking a one year Art/Design Foundation course. >>;
This is my first post here, but I've lurking around for quite awhile. I've thought about joining before but I never really thought my stuff was good enough, or that I was serious enough about art to actually join.
I still don't know if I'm going to seriously pursue art, but I know I want to get better at what I do, so I figured putting up a sketchbook here would be a good idea.
Some fairly new sketches, oldest are from a few months back:
And the last colored thing I did (I really need more practice with photoshop. xP), a few weeks ago for Christmas:

Some life drawing stuff.

More photoshop practice. I would kill for a tablet, just to make things easier on my wrist. xP

I haven't been drawing that much lately, but I have some older stuff I should probably put up.

Hey there welcome to CA. Your creature designs are good, you need to render them a bit better to really show them off well. For example the cerberus in the first post looks like a 3 headed fox instead of wolf/dog... I love what you did with the back of it though.
Your figures are well proportioned when you draw from life.

I really like your character designs. And now I want a tree-cat! <3

n1va- I was trying to give the Cerberus a longer, less dog-like face, but I didn't realize it looked like a fox. Well, I'm still far from finding a design for him that I'm happy with. Thanks for pointing that out. :)
MyOrangeHat-Thanks. They could be the next pet craze? xD
Anyways; some more life drawing works. Mostly 10 and 15 minute studies.

Thanks! Coming from someone with skill like yours that really is a compliment. xD;
I'm hoping to have some time to photoshop this week so I can actually add some color to this thread.

Those creatures are awesome and I love fluidity of your life drawings. Keep at it!

Te-can-Thank you. I never thought of my stuff as having any sort of fluidity. xD
This one is just something I'm half-assedly working on right now. There's a ton of mistakes in it, and general sloppiness..it's more of an experimentation with color/painting straight into photoshop without scanning a drawing first thing. Just to see if I can do it. >>;
