Well, here goes. I've been watching things here for awhile and finally worked up the nerve to start posting. I'm currently a junior in high school, and have only recently started to take art stuff seriously, though I've been drawing since I was little. Here's my stuff, so crit away, folks.

So. After taking a very large step back from the frustrated ambitions of, what, two years ago, I've finally come to terms with some things.

1. I have neither the ability nor the intention to make a living as a serious, full time artist.

2. Despite this, I think that art is an important and enjoyable thing to learn and have some ability in.

So. Starting today, I am making a commitment to developing some form of artistic ability. I plan to draw something and post it here every day. Of course most of it will be fit only for the rubbish pile, but the only way to improve at something is to straighten your suspenders, push up your sleeves, and go do some work. That's the plan: draw something every day, post it here, no slacking off. Here goes!

I can see you have a lot of good ideas, try to work on people and faces. and if you don't find yourself having a good time with that, try landscapes. Landscapes are always my fallback because they are all around you and they are not that difficult once you get the hang of them.

Also, since you have so many great ideas that I can see you represented well in your sketchbook, try character design, make your own world, and design a set of characters for it. I always find that exciting.

Anyway, hope this helps, your doodles are better than mine, good luck and don't give up!

The sacrifices I make for art. You have any idea how many bug bites I got while doing this? Yeah. That's right.

Oops! It appears that that last picture didn't come up!

... unfortunately, I spent today cooking food and sawing giant branches off of trees, and so have nothing to post. :( So, I'll do two pages of stuff tomorrow, plus fixing that last picture! Three posts!

Along the lines of missing days of posting, I realized a big problem with my plan. I'll be working a job at a camp where I will only have access to a computer once a week, if that. Plus, there's little chance of there being a scanner, so if I get to put stuff up it'll be a picture from a camera. Anyway, I still plan on following through on this!
