I like #1, but I think it could use a bit more contrast. Not too sure about the diptych format either. The images are a bit too similar.

Nice low angle in #4.

#6 is a nice portrait, just needs some slightly brighter highlights.

Overall, try playing around with your compositions more. Keep shooting! :)

it's a good start, keep this in mind. This said, I'm now going to be really critical and nitpicky, because I think with help you could be really good.

1. As Rose said, it's good, but a bit more difference would help.

2. this was obviously shot in somewhere really dark! ISO 1600 + 4/10 sec exposure is fairly long, and while it means that it exposed properly the time has made it blurry. Next time either use more light or a tripod. Composition-wise it's not really that fascinating for me, but the colours are nice.

3. Clean that lighter! It's covered in fingerprints!!! Once you do that, it'll be great!

4. Good to see you're unafraid of using interesting angles, however you've cut off some interesting ankles! Make sure that if you're going to have a full length portrait it actually is full length, and not cut off short. Watch out for the lights (like the one above the centre girl's head), they're distracting. Try to get some emotion, the girl on the right has some but the other two look bored. Good setting for the idea, but needs some work.

5. it looks like a snapshot of a cat. Not really art, just a bit of your life. Try to do something more interesting like some of these: http://flickr.com/search/?q=cat&s=int

6. This one is really good! Good expression, bigbig eyes. The two things it needs are: 1. more contrast, it's a bit flat. In CS2 go to image -> adjustments -> curves and have a bit of a play around in there 2. get that left shoulder back (the one on the right of the frame), it hints at a myspace angle. If it is a self portrait (this is my guess) then again, a tripod will fix this.

7. The colours are nice, but it looks like a bunch of trees blocking a view Same goes for number 8, only the colours aren't nice.

9. Myspace arm in frame, direct flash, too much eyeliner. None of these are really benefiting the shot here. You need to diffuse the flash a bit (or buy one that rotates and bounce it off the ceiling) so that the light isn't so harsh.

It's a good start, so go out and shoot, and come back to us! Looking forward to more.
