Oh my Goodness! This is one of your best pieces IMHO.
The colors are awesome. The motion of the branches at the top of the picture give real movement, you can feel the wind.
Your "signature" scratches around the feet work well at signing it as your own.
Beautiful concept too.

DAVE!!!!! Ha ha, what's up man! So refreshing to see some new stuff from ya. I gotta say this might be my favorite piece since the girl with the harp. And you're using painter now huh? I'd love to see what your process is like now. You should post a detail or two, it'd be great to see that beautiful gritty brushwork. Still in Pennsylvania?

I think you have to be one of my favourites! I really like the way you concieve the image as layers so that everything is seen 'at once' rather than as a something to be read bit by bit. It also means that the underlayers have their part to play even though they are almost buried. Not only that, the thing makes perfect sense as an illustration/painting. Marvelous work.
Suggestions? I've tried to find a loophole, something that could have been done differently but I simply can't - it all makes 'right brain' sense to me.
I'll ask a question though: How big (in pixels and dimensions) do you work?
