These are some sketches I recently did for fun. I edited them with photoshop to make them look more finish :) Hope this sketchbook will make me do more of that stuff.

Nice pieces you got there my friend!
I believe, you used photoshop to give the highlights on your first pictures. In my opinion you should use a harder and less round custom brush, tweak some settings, and try to make it look less 'smooth', i believe this way it will fit better with the pencil style!

Nice pictures you have there man!
Keep it up!

And thanks for the comments about the variety - I strt getting bored of one single style too fast :)
Did a new fast sketch today and used smooth highlights again (will try harder strokes the next time, but still think that smooth brushes still work in contrast to the hard pencil strokes).
Did that without ref, but think there is something wrong about the lifted right arm (although it's not that difficult posture). Just don't know what! Maybe you can help!

Very nice posts, I like your style, a lot. My favorite is the girl with her back to the viewer and the Baphomet looking goat woman on the throne. Keep posting! :)

Today I tried to do some serious Photoshop coloration. This is the result of 4 hours work and I would b happy, if you could tell me what to do better, different or what to change!

Hey, The sketches are cool! When I saw the mermaid sketch, I thought it was pretty cool, but looking at the painting, you are losing some the simplicity of the lighting. On both of these recent paintings the lighting is very soft. Try to build shadows as masses on the form, instead of "fluffing" them in. Also, if you want to maintain the sketch, bring it in as a layer with the blend mode set to "Multiply" and then make a new layer behind it for painting. When you feel like working past the sketch, you can either hide it, or make a new layer and apply the image to it (this will flatten all visible layers into a new one, whilst maintaining all your 'work' layers) This is how I like to work, but experiment on your own!

As far as the sketches, I like them, I think you could be a little looser, you could be a little more mindful of physics/weighting, and "thinking in 3d"... As some of them feel a little flat and unbalanced. I those issues are somewhat related though. Some people like to draw tight, but I think you may find more freedom by loosening up and taking quick light strokes.

anyway, keep drawing/painting and post more stuff soon!

@ Eric: Thanx for the critique. And yes, you are right with the points you mentioned. I tried to sharpen the highlights a bit (look at the two New Zombie-Ariel version and that Future-Girl (there will be no trousers in the future I fear ;)
And did another illustration for a roleplay game, that I am not yet satisfied with.
