I am the Creative Director for a project that has been going for over a year now. It is developing a Setting as a strong IP to be produced as an Online RPG.

It is an Dark Fantasy setting. With Adult content.

post from game dev.com:

I am looking for the following:
1.artists - Develop character,monsters,items,website and buildings

Looking for artists who have an interest in fantasy, occult, and or dark fantasy.

As far as compensation goes. Here is the break down.
You own all rights to your work until you are compensated.
If you are a lead you get a percentage of the royalties. If you are a team member you get get profit sharing. We will also compensate you retroactively when funding is secured. I know retroactive pay, and sweat equity are ugly words, but I would suggest contacting me first, and learning more about the project before you write it off. I look forward to your inquiries.

post from game dev:

Greetings,
I am well aware of the skepticism of when a post like this comes up. My goal yes is to do a mature (18 and over) 3d Online role-playing game, but I would like to be realistic. At the present moment with the team I have we are creating the setting. This setting will be used in producing a d20 supplement with WotC's open gaming licensee.

Here are the stages:
1. Setting will be developed concurrently with the design DOC. (Writers, Designers, Lead Programmer, and Concept Artists needed at this stage)
2. Website, and forum will be created. The forum will be used to create a fan base, and be a great way to find more talent. Also shows the investor(s) the demand for the game you are creating.
3. D20 supplements will be created based off the setting. Even if we don't get past this stage we accomplish something.
4. At this point great momentum has been created. By now the team should be filled out, and working on a demo. I may have already secured the capital needed to go right into development.

The basic premise is that-

After the defeat of the gods by a major god Dious. The people are left spiritually devoid since Dious seems to be ignoring the pleas of the mortals. His agenda is unknown. After much strife, and research a high Priest Min'tar learns the art of astral projection and locates Dious. Min'tar makes demands of Dious for the world is in turmoil. Dious acknowledges by transferring power into Min'tar, and leaves. So much power he could not hold all of it. Try as he might he could not hold on to all of it. Powers of dead gods flowed from his eyes, and down his face like liquid flames. Anguish, and torment unheard of for a mortal to bear ripped through the core of his being.

These powers, or tears have fallen to the realm of Kathos where mortals who find them can become demigods, and gods themselves. Ancient demon cults have also surfaced to find these tears. The world is plunged into plagues, war, and pestilence, and the banishe d gods have come back to reclaim their lost powers. How will the new mortals made gods deal with these new developments? Will they plunge their world further into chaos, or create a new golden age, and bring a semblance of peace to Kathos?

If I can get more people on the team I can work on other stages. I am currently designing the game right now. This is what I am looking for:
1. Lead Programmer- (Instrumental in deciding what technology we will need , and what we will need to create ourselves.)
2. Designers- I would like to assign the designers one major feature each if given enough people.

I will go more in detail when you contact me, but here is what I am looking for:
1. Spell System- contact me for details
2. Combat System- Armed, and unarmed combat. Martial arts in this game are tied to a spiritual force. Teaching martial arts to someone who brings shame to the order will have impact on the order. There will be different orders with their own styles. Also a few Martial art skill that are not tied to a mystical force but will be weaker in comparison.
3. Crafting System
4. Economy- (The world being in a state of turmoil will have a very unstable economy in some regions.
5. Judicial System- Player run judicial system.
6. Gods- Player gods' power will be directly influenced by the number of followers they have. An over all god ranking will determine which gods, and followers will have increased benefits, and bonuses. While the gods that are ranked lowest suffer penalties as do their followers. Each god will have special abilities that are conferred to their clergy that is unique to that god.
7. Monster Creation
8. Skill System- Skills will be bundled in profession type classes. Players can cross train in other professions. you will have so many advancements that you can use. Therefore a focused person would reach higher adepthood, as opposed to someone who choose to be more versatile.

Also I am looking for these following skill sets. These would make a great addition to the team:
Strong occultic background. (Enochian, Hermetic, Shamanism, and Wicca focus helpful)
Anthropologist / Archeologist (heavy emphasis on the Roman Empire age, and Babylonian age a plus)
Cryptography
Psychology
Linguistics
Economist (Person with background or interest in imaginary economies)
Tabletop Game Designer

I welcome any feedback, and questions. Please contact me at inquebis@aol.com

Regards,
Xavier

The response has been good. I would like to recruit a few more artists to fill out the team. Looking for artists that would like to break into the gaming industry. We are not a team of children wishing to make a game. I have an impressive team assembled of talented, and professional people. What we lack in game creation experience, we make up in determination, talent and creativity. We are determined to make our mark in the gaming industry. Everyone on our team has been suprised as to how well thought out the organization of the team, and the implementation of design has been. I look at improving the organization, and communication of the team constantly. If you are looking for a serious team to get involved with. This is the one! Contact me at emalysa@wi.rr.com.

Xavier
