This is the cover graphic for my updated demo reel. I was going for a painting-of-a-claymation effect. All C&C welcome.

Thanks! These characters are all loosely based on people I know or have known. It tends to keep the inspiration going while I'm working on a project.

cool as your fish chick...

But maybe the flicker light of the tv could be stronger on the figures...

I am not sure about this, but i think the light reflections on the eyes should be in the bottom part, since the light source is the tv...

Fozzybar: I'm still not sure about how strong to make the TV light; this is eventually going to print so I want to be careful about the difference between what looks good on screen vs. on paper. I put the eye highlights on both the top and bottom. It's hard to see on the bottom because the eye is lighter overall in that area. I put an additional highlight on the top in an attempt to show the semi-transparency of the
eyeball.

right_on_cats: The woman in the blue dress is supposed to have kind of a snooty sneer, but...yeah, I see what you mean. Okay...so....she likes it. Maybe that adds a mysterious depth to the whole ensemble. Yeah, that's it. Depth. That's the ticket.

Really great style and very visually intertaining, my only comment is maybe give it a bit more contrast...blacker blacks, lighter whites, etc...

Yeah, I kinda figured that's what you had in mind. I'm going to get a test print of what I have and then go from there. I've had bad print experiences with heavily contrasted pieces. I appreciate you taking the time to make that example. A picture is worth a thousand crits! :)
