colours cool, design cool, and they have your own touch to them.. overall i would pay attention to edges - both those of forms and also those of your brushtrokes. Sometimes your edges cal unnecessary attention to areas that shouldnt have it, and distract from those that should.... great to see you pushing your characters as a strength... keep going loren! 'you're doing it', or something... it seems to be the new catchphrase since rev's ;)

Tom This update is for you. More than anyone, You, Rob and Dan have been pushing me the last year and I really appreciate it. Hope you're not goign to give up on me anytime soon.
Cai I'm looking forward to your updates man! It was a blast to hang out with you again. Hope it's not another 2 years before we get together.
Rebecca Your determination with me is staggering. I'm suprised you don't hate me already! I feel honored to know you!
Emily I agree!! Maybe you'll speak up next time. So everyone won't have to crowd around you and break hotel furniture. I still feel like a fast bastard... being the straw that broke the camel's back..
Johnny Shen Hey man, I'm wishing you all the best out in Encinitas. You have to be sure to stay in touch. You're going to be a star.
King Scribbles Wow, I appreciate that alot. I want to update alot more, but I've been working on my LMS recently. I'm going to try to have more frequent updates now that free time is a reality.
Miles Haha. yeah.. there will be some full illos to come in the next few weeks. So expect to see more dynamic poses...
Longwrat You got it, boss. Thanks alot for the kind words, I really appreciate it.
DRGNSLYR Danomight You're the guy who sees every little scribble I make anyways, this book is nothing new to you. Your work has been really inspiring to me, especially lately. Hope you keep doing what you love. Thanks for being a good friend.
Bed Time Buddy That's some great advice. I did'nt really notice how harsh some of those transitions were until you pointed it out. Thanks for the advice!!
Nonie RAAAAASTAAAAAA!! Hey Nonie, thanks for the webspace, yikes, you're so generous. Let me know if there's someway I can repay you in the future. Why did it take so long to exchange MSN's? Can't wait to see your LMS, you're a machine.
lilnebo Thanks a bunch for your nice words!!
Curehead awe shucks.. you sure know how to sweet talk a gal.
DanielC I've been following your work for a while! It's great to get a response from you :D thanks a ton!!
Choco It's coming soon!! Just want to have a bit of fun before I get back into fusing art with math
Adam (not from the UK) Great crits! This is stuff I would'nt have picked up on my own for a long time. Keep it coming! And thanks for always having the time to look at my work, even at 3 in the morning
Toubab Really? lil' ol' me? You're giving me the vapours. Thanks for the comment!
Alice You did'nt see these? It'd pretty much all I brought. haha. Thanks for the print! I have it hanging above my monitor.
Meltface Are you... in... Pocket Club?
HurricaneThanks, hurri! And thanks for all the awesome crits you give me, too :D
Adam Our love? Do you mean dry humping me infront of 15 people in a crowded hotel room?
Slav Oh, you ;)
DoktorNo Well.. I can only answer that as a beginner myself... Really I get inspired by thinking up little stories of character in my head before I draw that out.. then usually they seem to just fall into the costume or expression I want them to.. Thanks for the comment!!!
lilnebo here it is!
Ignominious Your name is fun to say.. and your avatar is fun to look at, and your post was fun to read, OY! It's like a carnival. lol. Thanks a ton.
TOOLED You're from Calgary? Drop me a PM sometime. And as for androgynous, yeah.. I like that aspect of characters for some reason. The big manly brutes with the muscles and heavy weapons are'nt my personal cup of tea... so it does'nt really show up in fun work and sketches.. I like the calculators and crafty ones :)
Justin You said the magic word :)
Anyways, here is some shit.. sketching out ideas for vilains in my project,, and a creature sketch I did on the bus. ah the bus.... I live like a king.

Argh! I wanted to have a bunch of sketches up by now... after the workshop in Seattle I came back to work on my LMS piece, then immediately I was off to another city to stay in a hotel with my girlfriend for another type of conference / workshop. Have'nt had much tiem to sketch. I feel bad, so I'll atleast post my LMS piece and process.
DanielC - Thanks man!! Hope you keep returning
Cai - lol. I posted it a bunch while the forum bugs were going on. I had no idea they'd all show up when the bugs were fixed. Thanks man... creature compliments from you make me blush a little :)
BludHund - We never get to talk much!! Next time I'm taking you out for lunch or something. I feel bad, cause I always see you around the forums, so I feel like I know you, feels like I'm neglecting a friend. Sorry man!

Nice SB. The human characters really all have thier own look and personalities. Sometimes it's difficult for me to get away from cookie-cutter male and female archtypes. The pencil(?) sketch of the heads is cool. The purple-headed upside-down girl reminds me of Brom's work. I like.

Nice design man, the chainsaw wings are brilliant. I remember that from an old CHOW you did. I think the chainsaws would look better angled outward, so they weren't parallel. Then the further saw wouldn't tend to get lost behind the closer one like it does in the action pose shot.

well to your message I am 30 yrs old I am focussing more on modelling an texturing than concept art but I do like to explore different concepts and largely self taught. It piays to keep in touch with your drawing skills whatever you do.
damn your work is so good how old are u. The problem with concept art is what is the high standard of work is like. When does it become a good illustration because you can go on forever design the background and design the vehicles and the whole fantasy world .

I love this characters color choices!!
Its to bad you didn't have much fun with the character. His pose and expression make him seem unimpressed but the painting its self is still pretty good.
There is a bit of dark outline. Its not really a flaw as fair as im concerned, it just makes me curious as to how well that would allow a character to be inserted into a Background.
Glad to see more work man, love the characters.

Adam - Yeah, I'm really having some issues with that area. Thanks for the help, sweetie pie.
D@niel - Hey thanks, mate!
DANKS - Thanks! I kinda like her, too!
Shalite - Thanks for the crit! I see these people of asian girls sometimes and thier legs can do some wacky things, but it does'nt really look right in the painting, huh? Cheers!
Emily - Thansk for the advice, old buddy!
Psuedocognition - That means alot to me! hehe, assymetry is what I'm all about, ever since I saw LL cool J walking around with one pant leg rooled up, maybe? hehe

Bohemian Chaos Yeah, you were in the neighbouring dorm, right? :D I'm getting a bit tired of the simple poses also. there's gonna be more of these though, so I'm trying to do alot of sketching with mroe unique poses :D

Nice result man. The patterns on the out fit definitely give the overall costume more interest as opposed to a single area. The staff disappears a bit before if goes behind the torso, perhaps the material of the clothing is not reading well to me.
I like that subtle sex appeal using the thigh hip connection. Might distract her opponents :P

Nice character designs. I actually think it's quite refreshing to see SB where all of the characters are from the same world, more or less; I think that the ability to design within the frame of a given world is an oft-overlooked skill.
You've definitely shown improvement over the course of your SB. Your drawings have gotten tighter, and the silhouettes are very nice. Keep it up!

My fave is the first one. To me the colors just fit better. The skin tone with the overall image seems like the most probable to me. Im gonna keep it at that because the more I look at the rest I begin to like then just as much for there own reasons.

Hi interceptor long time no see, your art is visibly much better than I remembered :).
About that assignment. I think you ought to go with the first one. The theme of violence and Asian influence in that one would work great with a red scheme

Dan - Thanks man! See you at the sketchgroup on Wednesday! Using the scanner like I promised. Thanks again for that ;)
Troy - Fuck, man.. I don't know how you can push out so much work so often and still have the time to post it all. I got some weird e-mail from you a couple weeks ago by the way, did something get messed up on your account?
Goliath - Is that you, Nick? :D Great to see you here, man. You've been drawing in that thing even way more than I have. Way to show me how it's done!
Ryan - Thanks for all your help lately, you rock, brotherman.
Res01ve - Yeah. I actually have a bunch made up already. Kinda waiting for a while to post some more Eklipse stuff at once, I hate nickel and dime-ing this stuff. So I'll let my sketchgroup keep this thread going. Thanks for the comment!
JERI - I really appreciate your input man. My folder of your work is way to small by the way. I'm gonna check your sketchbook after I post! Hope to see alot more. I always love your ladies!
Mischeviouslittleelf - <3. That's so sweet
Blue Severin - man.. when you got that cast taken off you had all this drawing energy pent up. The work you've done lately is super inspiring! We gotta keep in touch more, mate ;)
Aly - Pooooooost!!! ;) Hehe. Hope things have slowed down for you a bit. Get some more time to work on personal stuff and post up on the blog
Talk to you soon, man!!
Jason - Thank you!

I always say this, but I'll try to post more regularly now that I'm keepign a physical sketchbook. Toss up somr roughs and whatnot. I know, more boring characters, right? ;)
Thanks everyone.

Looks like the scanner is treating you well. Not a problem man, Im glad you finding it useful.
I like the hair on the far left girl of the trio. left or bottom depending on how your looking at it :P
I love that pose on the last one. She really look relaxed, and a decent sense of weight resting her arm on the staff. Her hands and feet seem a tat large, but that may be more of a personal pref as opposed to a crit.
All the best Loren, Keep em coming.

you have and interesting set of characters here , some of them , i noticed , have some problems with the proportions ( ex: the eyes are misplaced , the nose is either to high or to low and its not because of the tilt of the head , same with the mouth and ears , hands are either bigger then they should be or smaller, i wish you ... a good drawing mood ^^

Hey guys thanks for the comments and such!
I've moved to Australia a little oevr a month ago. I've been staying with some GA guys. I'm at Adam Paquette, AKA Form's studio for a couple weeks. I'll be here for 2 more weeks in Sydney before heading back to Brisbane.
That samurai girl, i've been a bit busy, hopefully I can do a finished painting of that after I finish up some work here. So for now, here are some doodles since I've been to Sydney.
a couple old faces.. xiao niao and gladys from eklipse.. a TCG type piece.. and a doodle of something after looking through the monster hunter book and reading about faeries.
Thanks for stopping by. :)
EDIT/ Oh i forgot to mention. I have a website up now, www.twoeggshuffle.com
Nothing up yet though. Will add content after I'me done some work.

Wow, you have some really fabulous stuff! That first one in the last post is really nice.
My only crit, in general, is that you seem to produce a lot of the same type of faces in your work, particularly in the noses. Maybe try some new features?
Really love the stuff you got here. ♥

Dude, to be honest, your ladies have noses that are too big and chubby. The rest (coloring and proportions) is pretty kick ass though.

Hmm, I think it's a stylistic decision on behalf of the artist.

Hey great work! I especially like your pencil's.
You might try experimenting with some other brushes in photoshop. Your faces look good but they are all looking very similar.

your work is impressive interceptor. you are highly skilled at using light to represent form.
one quick question ,how long did the girl with the blue/white arrow take?
your work has been a pleasure to view, keep it coming.
