hi,
how do i set painters brushes? I like to paint in Acrylic and Airbrush. Which settings simulate the painting with the real tools best? Is there maybe a tutorial somewhere?

Thanks. The Tutorials there are good to learn how painter works, but i look for something that explains how to imitate real acrylics and how to use them in painter. I use the acrylic fine soft brushes and i dont know if i have to change some settings so that they work like real brushes. I never painted with real life acrylics before so i cant compare.

I would advise studying real acrylics then. It can become a loaded question like "how to drive a car". If you want to paint like real brushes you'd have to use your traditional counterpart before making a comparison.
Let's put it this way, how can I tell you if they're acting like traditional acrylics if you don't know or understand them. Ever try to text message someone telling them how to drive a car? See how well they drive if they never got in a car before. XD

If you do a Google search using the words "painting with Acrylics" or similar terms, you'll find a long list of links that should take you to sites where you can learn how Acrylics work.
For instance, here are a few:
Wikepedia - Acrylic Paint (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acrylic_paint)
The following link takes you to a series of 15 videos. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the images or links to view each of the videos:

I see what Arshes Nei is saying and I agree with most of it. I think that what you're looking for is a tutorial with a step by step on how to create a brush that gives the closest to look and feel of a medium.
It's probably best to just mess around and find the style that suits you... that's kind of what is so cool about Painter and digital painting, anyway; the extremely flexible workflow.
But without a knowledge and feel of a specific medium, like Acrylic, you can only speculate. Once you know how it works and looks only then will you be able to simulate it. From that point it's about adjusting brush settings.

i think even if you can create that exact look of acrylic painting digitaly, it will still never have that same feel of actually painting acrylic traditional. The main problem with digital is simply there is no feeling its just a basic smooth motion. And until someone actually invents a kind of rumble pack tablet pen or pad with different types of texture settings, then there will never be that exact feeling of actually using a traditional medium. Its like playing the best virtual reality car game ever,as good as it may be, it will still never realy compared to the real thing.
