Personaly i think they have a high chance of ruining Ender's Game as a movie...

I checked out the site again sammy...where does it say orson scott card is working on it?

I agree Pencil Soldier, when you think about it.. child actors.. big budget businesses... It's gonna be a challenging undertaking... if they pull it off it'll be great..
reguardless it'll rule to see them bouncing around the anti-grav rome playin' tag!

it sais in the credits.. and on the book.. if you watch the animated trailor of it.. the credits pop up and you'll see Orson's name

I think Orson scott wrote the screenlay for the Ender's Game movie, or at least he said on his site that it was a really good take on the book.

Yea he wrote the screanplay.. I trust him to write a good one..
he said it was a mix between Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow..
so the movie will have a lot of focus on Bean too.. which is good by me.. as long as they get a good kid to play Bean

Haley Joel Osment!...no

i was so disappointed that the robota trailer was just a commercial for the book (which im so gonna get). it was everything i wanted a movie to look like.

I recently picked it up in Seattle, neat stuff but man, sometimes those concept/transportation guys just dont have the touch when it comes to the human figure/face... I was surprised.

I just got it in.. man it's so much larger/better than I'd thought.. I gotta sit down and read it!

I do wish it had more of Chaing's sketches in it, those are my favs!

JkooXL - I do so agree, altho the portriats were nicely done.. us vehickle/tech guys have a hard time with human forms.. two different worlds..
I try and practice, but my peeps never get any better.

I just picked my amazon box up this morning from the post office and I have to say Robota is amazing!! I thought i was gonna be a thin book of sketches and little stories about them. Its the biggest art book i own. Man its cool. Everyone should own this, and it was inexpensive also, on amazon.

Indeed I was amazed that it was $25 and so damn thick with multiple images on every page.. I was quite impressed

wee, i just got my amazon box :)
must have a look on that one... bbl

edit:

yay, it's really cool :)
although, it's not the story in particular, or the artwork, that amazes me but the universe, the dropback of it all.
i'd even say the historical dropback chiang invented has about the same screen potential the star wars epos has. limiting the whole thing to the story of font prime returning would be like limiting star wars to the final scene of star wars ep 6 when vader kills the emperor.

I agree Gekitsu, the world is very vibrant an fully realized.. even the history and legonds that they go into..

This is so gettin' turned into a movie as we speak :)
(I'm willing to wager) ... I think Chaing would be an awesome driector
