Ezidof: I like those more realistic end digital paintings that you have going on towards the top of your thread here. It's really awesome how you can abbreviate things out of real life colors and shapes the way that you do to almost render 3dimensionally. Awesome work! Keep it up.........

Hey Mark, I was wondering when u were going to start up a sketchbook!
Very nice still life pieces. I think itll be good to see some suggested details with some texture brushes used on those speed paints. Looking good mate!

Hey,
DoctorPencil: cheers man appreciate it.
Lege 1: thanks dude, I tend not too paint much detail in sketching from life, i prefer a kind suggestive loose feel to my work, thanks!
Bendragon: Hey man, how it going? Yeah i thought it was time to kick my but and start a sketchbook on here, been waiting too long.yep thanks for the advice , we usually only spend about 20mins on the speedpaints, sometimes a bit longer, but yeah i try and put more texture in there

Right, a lil update
Ok few random quick sketches here, um..alien figurine lunchbreak study (25mins), an outside sketch of a road- it was freeezing when we did it, so had to stop because our fingers couldnt move! a study from a photograph i took when i was in barcelona last september, an old sketch when i was in borders cafe one time, a couple of quick life drawings and a few quick random sketches... C&C always welcome. thanks

Welcome.
Your work looks pretty good to me, I like the texture your strokes in the first few PS life drawings.

I would like to see some of your PS sketches worked out in more detail.

Keep drawing!

Things are going well here. Just lots of deadlines to think about :P Painting layouts for film and drawing outdoors when I can.
Im drawn to the mouth piece on the alien figure. That outdoor piece looks fantastic! I do like how the street looks at night and you get a lot of head-lights contrasting with the night, and some reflections off the rainy road. What are you using to paint on location?

Great sketchbook!

Your use of colour is excellent, looks so juicy yet realistic. Your environments are looking great too, seems you manage to capture their atmosphere very well. And your characters are very pleasing to look at too!

Seems like there's nothing here for me to crit, so I'm just enjoying your works. Keep it up, I'd love to see more :)

Hey, nice update! Im a bit shocked that you have a gun lying around! I think the edge of the table looks a bit too digital because of the regular shape of it.
The life drawings look great! Makes me iching to try a DS next time :) Is the second one done on your laptop? Lovely form! Looking good! Hows the blog going anyway?

Hey Ezidof, nice sketchbook! Your digis are great, the looseness with your, um, "brushwork" is something I really envy. Sometimes your edges are too hard though, in a way that pulls me out of the image and screams "digital painting!" Not that there's anything wrong with leaving artifacts of your medium, its something that makes all kinds of painting great. But in this case, it pulls me out of the image. The hard edge around the statue is the one in particular i'm seeing this in.

Your gestures are great, too. Love to see great life drawing!

Hey,
thanks Ben, yeah we have quite a few bb replica guns lying around, and at the moment i have shotgun on my desk! but yeah, i guess i know what you mean. The focus of this study was actually the UZI, but i ended up doing parts of its surroundings to make up a nice composition. yeah DS is really cool if you dont want to lug a laptop around, i happened to have it with me when we did life drawing a few backs so i used it! and yep the second one is 30mins on my laptop using artrage software. the blog is set up and the images will hopefully be up by mid next week.
HankTol, thanks for your crit, I actually think that most of my work actually ends up being too soft edged but I will definetly keep your thoughts in mind. thanks

hey ezidof, this is a good sketchbook youve got going here.
i like your use of imagination and the way you put it in the right perspective. but although we can do realism with one eye, i would like to see some of your work with both eye inside your mind if you get what im saying. id like to see more people pull creatures deep within and paste it to a blank canvas.
now thats the stuff im really trying to search for thats what keeps my ideas coming and my imagination fed.
but keep up the good work and im sure you will find what im trying to say soon enough, ill keep an eye on your sketchbook, best of luck man. :rocker:
