With the mace challenge finished up, I finally have yall warmed up. Now is where we get our real imaginations pumping. This weeks challenge isn't a set weapon, but rather an idea.
THE THUNDERBOLT
Throughout history, the thunderbolt was considered a powerful weapon used by the gods. Zeus, Indra, Thor, they all had the almighty thunderbolt. This week, I want you to make a thunderbolt weapon made for the gods.
THE RULES
1: Though the challenge is for a thunderbolt, I do not want to see just a simple lightning bolt, but instead a weapon that basically represents thunder and lightning.
2: Only one entree per contestant.
3: Do not use art stolen from other people or sites.
4: As this is a contest of weapons, the weapon must be the focal point in your artwork.
With that said, good luck to everyone, and do your best.

Can the weapon for example be a pistol or a whip or something, and just have something to do with electricity??
And when is the deadline??

I find it hard to be a whip.
But the pistol seems possible.
And I think that the deadline is the 9th.

Yes, the weapon can be anything, even a whip, just as long as it is the embodiment of thunder and lightning, and yes, the deadline is on the 9th.

could it be a drum with twin mjolnir's? (getting a bit elaborate) like when you hit the drum thunder and lighting comes from the sky or something like that

sacrificial dagger of some culture that worships sun and lighting,
the sun moves to clouds to lightning, explicitly depicting the visceral, painful, and random extension of the sun's power; a thunderbolt.

Well, atleast its better then your spear. Blade could use a major touchup, but it does have alot of potential.
Finally, my entry is complete.

The Vajra of Indra
Used by the Hindu god Indra, the god of lightning and thunder. This vajra was used to kill Vritra, the dragon of drought who drank all the water in the cosmos. It was made from the bones of a sage named Dadhichi, who gave his life to help defeat Vritra. as well as seafoam, due to a pact Indra made with the Rishis, which stated he would not attack Vritra with anything made of metal, wood or stone, nor anything that was dry or wet, or during the day or the night.
Made of bone, seafoam, and the godly powers of Indra.

ok, here is my go: the Thunder Sceptar;
Made by humans in an attempt to achieve godpower, the sceptar consumes lightning and can then unleash it with trumendous force, bouncing of to several foes, this sceptar was once used by the king of Torlokk to defeat an entire army, so they say...

......its just that im that awesome...
Seriously though, 3d is my main specialty, for you can do alot with it once you got the skills. It still requires use of digital painting, color theories, and so on.

Yes, what do you not understand about ANYTHING?
... can it be..... a guy? like one guy is fighting and he does some trick and, this whole other guy comes from somewhere and he's like "did somebody summon me, John Thunderbolt?"
because, thats the first thing that comes to my mind....

he was the lightnings "secret weapon", their "w.m.d.". when it was 4th and 7 with less than 2 minutes on the clock, the offensive line was augmented with #7: defensive lineman/ runningback: John "Thunderbolt" McMacenburg!!!
(that sentence contained my entirety of football knowledge)

Ok here's another, just done as a break from my tc entry, I know it's badly designed ridiculous looking garbage with massive overuse of the burn tool but I haven't done any weapon design for years now so I can live with it.

Hi, this is my WOTW#3 entry.
Heaven Glow. A spear sent from heaven in order to purify the world. Of course, it's a two-handed weapon, though I know it looks like dagger:P.
Done in PS, about 3 hr.

Alright! One more day till the deadline! So if you got anything, even a concept or rough draft, put it up now. As we have seen, even drawings and concepts get votes.
Silent, I kinda like the concept and idea of it, with a summoned entity, though it just dont go through for me on the whole thunderbolt idea.
Apts, I would use the second one. That one has a better blade, and looks cooler in general, though it is dark as you said. The first just looks overdone, unlike the second one.

Ok guys, here's mine. Gimmie those crits. Basically some sort of energy sword that gathers electricity then unleashes it at the opportune moment...
