Jeez man, seriously amazing.. that asian girl piece is one of my favs from you.. her face just pops off the canvas!!! it boarders on being oddly... surrealy realistic. If that is possible.
The colours the colours...

All of it is great stuff, but the portrait of Melissa (I only know her name cause I saved it!) is my absolute favorite of yours, better even than your landscapes. The pose is very very natural, the anatomy looks wonderful, the colors in the shadows where her left shoulder joins her neck and the soft siennas on her right arm and stomach are perfect. I really like the abstract broken shapes in the background with just a suggestion of a horizon and foliage.
when I see your finished oil paintings I really get the urge to break out the physical paints again. Keep tempting me.
i would guess that Gustav Klimt and Bill Sienkiewicz are influences of yours, would you agree and who else would you list?

Boy oh boy ! I just can't imagine you had so few replies for that post !!!
As always I'm amazed by your skills but more than this it's your universe that teases me.
The first one lookes like a strange mix of pre-raphaelite, art-deco and 80's bio-mechanical. It's one of my favs. The fourth one has a pure Paul Gauguin feeling in the color scheme and theme. I love the second one though it looks a bit saturated. Anyway, all of these paintings are highly inspiring.
esplendido !!

thank you everyone. glad you all liked these.
Living Rope: haha thank you man. glad you liked this batch. your call of influences for the first one is spot on. i kind of want to do a series like that. i've said this before, but i'm very flattered you like my stuff, since i'm such a fan of yours.
bwkeough: thanks, i really like that painting of melissa. i sold it recently, and was saddened by the loss. i got lucky on that one, i think. it was painted on lead white primed linen, which i find i get better paintings out of. its expensive, though. $300 a roll, so i dont paint on it too often, unfortunately. klimt and Sienkiewicz are huge influences on me.both color guys, i'm really into that shit, ya know?
DRESDEN :the first one and the fourth one are oils, all the rest are actually acrylics, except fo the very bottom one which is pencil and digital.
to evryone else, thanks you again very much for the postive feedback. i really apreciate it.-c36
