Lovely constructive criticism Iffy.
I believe Iffy's comment is to the lightning to the left, but what he fails to realize is that is simply the background of your site and the image itself is simply in a slideshow gallery.
NOW...having explained that for the simpletons, I think this piece is a step in the right direction. There are a few things off with the anatomy and the clothing is a bit muddled. Start working on the human form so you can construct it without the robes and then approach the clothing as shapes and realize that light hits them differently at a different angles. It's good to see how the Masters have done their work, but be sure to deconstruct it enough so it helps you.

thanks for the advice... i've never been a great painter, and doing it on the computer is even harder than on the canvas. Thanks for the constructive crits though.
Iffy, eat my nuts man. If your gonna say something be constructive otherwise keep your smart ass comments to yourself.

it's a velazques and it's at the met. why don't you try copying all the figures? also he looks abit flat. it's much too grey and i think you can add more colors. and always try to round it out as you're drawing. think 3d!

Thanks for the crits, i really appreciate it.. I did'nt copy all the figures for this one mainly because I did'nt feel very comfortable painting digitally and I wanted to just focus on one figure. I totally agree, that it seems too flat as far as adding more colors go, You know I look at all these paintings and see so much color used in them, but i never know when and where to use them myself, I see blues in shadow areas, and reds but when i try to paint that way it always ends up a mess.. lol i'll keep trying and readin up on it...
thanks for the advice.
