What is a good portfolio, in the eyes of a company director(or whoever manages concept art)?
I'm hoping to start designing a portfolio for companies around here. There are multiple art galleries downtown in Richmond.
I'm assuming diversity is good, like different schemes and moods. But, does it all have to be one type of art? Can I mix space art and concepts? I only have one or two space images that I'd like to show off. I have a few speedpaintings that I think have potential or are at least understandable. That brings me to another question, how much does quality count in a portfolio? Will a decent print on normal paper look bad? My printer isn't the best, but I have glossy paper to kinda help a little.
Thanks guys. I'm in my junior year of high school and I'm trying to get ready for college with scholarships and exposure. Exposure is really important to me around here too; there are many traditional artists all over downtown and since I'm a digital artist trying to go to VCU(also downtown)...I feel that getting more exposure for the digital world will help.
