It's not really complete as a composition (no lower body, etc) but it's as finished as I care to make it. I sort of lost interst in the concept but quickly finished up the upper body just to make it sort of presentable. This is my first piece done with Painter and Wacom that I spent a decent ammount of time on.

there's some nice rendering coming along there, but that's as a painting. as a concept, it's not doing much--rather underdeveloped and nondescript. did you undertake some studies, or at least some thumbnails of what you were going to do? sometimes it's fun just to launch into things and see what develops, but in this case i think it's working against you. you're developing a rendering without having much of a strong concept first--spending more time actually concepting the concept, so to speak, will get you a lot farther in the long run.

I think that is what basically lead me to give up on it. I did do some sketches and marker comps, but overall the concept was weak so when I started doing the final render, working with a weak concept didn't help the rendering process. But I am just glad to have something done with Painter, and maybe I'll develop the concept further at some point and take another shot at rendering it.
