This was done for a Thunderdome competition over at
Reyesart.com.

I also posted this in the finished section, since it is technically finished (for me at least) but I guess it could go here as well.

Now for those who don't know; Robert E. Howard was the creator of Conan. While I don't think he had any kids, you could say Conan (his creation) was his child. Unfortunately, Robert decided to take his own life at the age of 30, just a few months after Conan became very popular... So, reading about that made me think of this piece.

As always comments and crits are appreciated.

I like your usage of negative/postive space. There is a lot going on, but thats usually the case with comic-styled pencils. I dig your style. I really dig on how the eyes of the demons shift my attention around to the headstone. Well done.

Chromo-

I like the action in your piece, the sense of movement is defiinitely there. It is a bit on the busy side, though. It's a bit difficult to distingish which limbs belong to which bodies. However I understand this could be your intention to add to the craziness of the drawing. I'd love to see it colored, but I think you said this was already at its finished stage. Nice variaton on the creatures' heads, BTW. Overall nice job

My only complaint is that I think Conan's head is a little bit on the long side... but this is turned out to be a really fine piece. The tree in the background is very wicked.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words.

Shyst:I haven't seen too much bart sears, and Yeah jimmy's got his web forum back up at reyesart.com and his stuff is looking pretty good, very top cow!

Afro: Thank you very much, that was my intention. I think the composition is the strongest aspect of this one.

TheBlasionOne: Thanks! Yeah, some of the limbs, expecially around conan's leg were kind of just placed there to give the effect of more demons.

Feels: Yeah the head was a tough one, His jaw just really comes down due to his expression, but I guess it does look a little big. I got a few other crits of the same at some other forums.
