Anyone buy anything recently that they want to gloat about?
I recently got this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2188737801&category=1440&rd=1
of ebay. It's very cool, though over 70% of the jokes i don't find funny or can't figure out if they are suppose to be funny at all, the art is beautiful.
I also about the art of jeffery jones book and it seriously inspired me to do more art beyond belief.
I also bought a 'getting started with painter8' cd from www.lynda.com which i'll tell you is insanely helpful.
you guys get anything cool lately?

Cool finds... I actually just got my copy of Phil Hale's Goad, a book I've been looking for for quite a while. It's an instant favorite and an absolutely beautiful book.

Nice find on ebay davi. I've been a big collector of books for many years now and just by looking at the few pages of your book, it is obvious you made a nice find. I love the old style of political cartooning and comics. I have several in my collection and you can never seem to get enough.

I just got some groceries... I love food
Actually, my gf is getting me a gameboy advance sp and final fantasy tactics for my birthday on the 26th (i turn 21)... she wants me to be a gamer, because I'm not really much of one... mainly because I just don't have time and I'd rather draw, but she knows I've been wanting that new gameboy and that I would play it alot.

I jsut bought "alla prima"... $100 for a book, but I hear its worth it..
I also bought "The ARt of LOTR: The Two Towers" its a great book, lots of cool things that show what goes into the creation of a movie like that.
nothing much else... Im trying to save my money for some bigger projects (cars!!)
Oh and I get to pay probably $500ish for a clutch replacement in my car since i dont haev a garage or a lift to do it myself... :(

I just got Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Disgae Hour of Darkness in one buy... TWO 60 hour tactical rpg's at once!!! ... Right now FFTA is owning me.. it's really great and you can't beat taking FFT out to eat, to coffee shop, break from drawing in the park, etc.. I've had it for two days and I'm 11 hours in.. whew...
Imona' save Disgae HOD for later.. (I had to buy it considering there was only one shipment, and it's price has already gone up to $70 on ebay)
on the other side of games it seems that my money was well spent on F-Zero GX .. I'm better at that game than I've ever been at anything.. it sorta tapps into this gaming zen/nervana for me.. I pass out and wake up having won a gran prix on expert... luckily enough there's enough people at my school that are good at it we plan on starting a leage and having races at the arcades for $...
as far as artbooks go.. the last ones I bought were art of "Finding Nemo", and "Treasure Planet" ... the "finding nemo" book is interesting in that they used many unique medias to explore their design and story.. (pastels, charcoal, ect... hardly any digital) .. and the Treasure Planet book is to droool over ... SOOOO many cool designs that didn't make it to the final movie.
