try to be as much as possible, when i'm living in a city it's easy but i move around a lot and in the suburbs it's nearly impossible, everything is far to spread out to making biking or walking practical and theres only very basic public transit.

I'm 22 and I still don't even have a license. Primarily cuz it's not really needed in D.C. At least for me.

No car, no licence but I live 10 minutes walk from a city centre.
It's the only exercise I get these days so it's probably a good thing.

Have to travel for work, and can't use public transport (times don't fit) Other than that, I can mostly walk....

I bike! Just learned how and am loving every minute. Even got a portfolio that can strap onto my back for my Christmas present. :)

Never learned how to drive...at the request of the entire civilized western world. :P

My wife and I own two vehicles. We put 40,000 km a year on one, and 30,000 km per year on the other. One of the cars is used as a work vehicle for a home business, plus we live in a rural area. Without a vehicle we would starve to death in our house.
Sad but true! I wish I could figure out a way to reduce our dependency on the automobile.

Edinburgh HATES cars, which is fine by me since I'm too much of a wimp to get behind a wheel.

I hate cars....unfortunately I must drive one for 40 minutes a day to get my meager wages (20 minutes there, 20 minutes back). Other than that I honestly don't travel much - at least when I'm the one driving (I usually get out and about at least once a week - on another person's fuel :P).

Living in a country that has more bikes then people, I can happily say I use my bike for most things. And sometimes my car, when its way to cold and my girlfriend stole my gloves. We also have a fairly good public transport system in place wich I put to good usage.
One thing that is awesome about cars though, is that you always have transportation nearby. If something happens that needs you right away, its only a car ride away.

I keep reading the title as "carefree/lite" :P
Anyway, I live in a rural area with no public transportation, and too far to walk/bike to town for work. Otherwise I would.

i ride my motorcycle, don't even have a "car" per se.
I've been meaning to purchase a bicycle, but being as I'll be moving again shortly back to the other side of the world it won't make much sense to buy one now.

I own neither car nor license but then I live in a town center and buses will generally get me anywhere else I want to go to.

Riding a bike is fine. I only get dizzy when I'm driving a car. It's not that bad though, I can drive pretty safely. It's just really uncomfortable since I have to concentrate very much because of the dizziness.

I drive as much as possible out of spite. I'm trying to end the world early singlehandedly. If I had more money for gas I would drive even more.
I hate driving though. So boring. If I could get into the city and walk/ride everywhere I wouldn't mind. Then I would just start doing graffiti or something. Using non-recycled paper and then burning it maybe, or leaving my lights on all the time. And using a lot of flaming hairspray. Screw the ozone, Big piece of shit.

Stockholm has a pretty developed public transportation system, so there's no real need for a car. I know how to drive, but have no license cause it's damn expensive to get one... I'm considering getting a license next year anyways "just because", sometimes it can be practical to have. But like I said, there's no real need for a car around these parts.
When I lived in Barcelona I just rode my bike around town. Here I live too far from the city to have any real use for a bike.
So there, my life story. :D
