Not sure how many of you were regular on comicjobz.com... but sadly it's completely shut down now. They had a brief warning up for a day or two and now it's entirely off line. No advance warning... no time to collect the stored e-mails and contacts... WTF?!?!

Anyone else pissed?:wtf:

Anyone else know anything about who ran the site?
Or the reasons behind closing it down?

It was actually a good place for writers/publishers/pencilers to hook up.
Bummer.

Yeah! I just tried to look into the site and it's crapped out. Anybody hear why? That's pretty lame.

Charles LePage Said --

Comicjobz.com- described by founder Charles Pritchett as a site designed to help "freelancers find work and make connections to others also trying to make a splash in the competitive comic book industry," has disappeared as of December 24. A message at the Comic Art Guild states there was "a brief warning up for a day or two and now it's entirely off line," but according to this Livejournal message, the warning was posted as early as December 9.

"Ladies and gents, it is with great displeasure that I have to announce that as of Sunday December 9th 2007 Comicjobz.com will close to the public. It was great fun while it lasted and a great experiment in social networking amongst comic book professionals however but I don't feel that I have enough free time any longer to improve the site (and fix what's broken) and with current contracts regarding hosting, etc coming up for renewal in a few days, I've decided it's time to close up shop and put the site to rest. I thank you for the last year and wish each and every one of you the best of the luck in the future, in both comics and life."

For what it is worth, The domain name is registered through October 5, 2008.

There were messages posted to the site right up to December 8:
