Hmm yes I see....

You definitely suffer from a moderate case of needing to post more. :)

In other words, I either a) like your stuff and would like to see more or b) need to see more to critique. (the answer is c) both).

Well you have grasp of antomy , but show us some more studies, and take some time out, and sketch a lamp with the light on , its good practice for values.

Hey Rockhart. I decided to listen to your suggestion and stop by. Thanks for checking out my stuff by-the-way. You've got some pretty nice stuff here. Did you do your avatar pic in illustrator. I hate that program. I gotta respect you for that. I like that pic of the grey guy holding the gun. The perspective on the gun is really good. Keep up the good work.

hey..

I think you are being pretty brave at what your attmepting here, which is good and fun :)

To see some bigger improvements though, you need to break your finished pieces into smaller chunks focusing on one thing at a time... be it anatomy, composition or palette.

Basically i think your biting off more than you can chew..

just keep oging though and things will start to improve :)

welch99 - Hey thx for commenting! and yeah the pic was done in illustrator. somehow i learned how to do it but not photoshop... i'll have to correct that sometime.

smartkyle - thx for the crit but what did u mean by "I think you are being pretty brave at what your attmepting here" ? just wondering!

Eponine - thx i actually started to do a really large color pencil drawing of it but... maybe i'll finish it during Christmas break.

It's pretty neat that you've attempted Vector Drawing. It's hard and time consuming but when done well it shocks people. And it can go on T-shirts + make money! haha

Your drawings are pretty good but you should definitely study more anatomy and get into the proper thought process of drawing.

You have veray varied styles in your sketchbook. I would even say, that it is uneven. Some your works are stunning, and other are just... flat...

BTW: thanks for comment on my Sketchbook.

January 5th, 2008, 04:33 PM
all right my real sketchbooks almost full! but before i post the goodies some thx must be dole out...

MurdokX - thx! the leaf looks nicer in real life though... and i agree some of my figures are a little stiff.

ped454 - thx i really like adobe illustrator. its awsome!

Mr. Gadbury - and and you're welcome!

DoktorNo - thx. well, variatey is the spice of life... and one of the reason i think some of these pieces stand out more than the others is their level of completion. or that some pieces i have spent alot of time on versus those drawn in only 30 min or less.

k now the images! most are just studies for possible projects...

Mr. Gadbury - Nice to see you on my sketchbook again!

zaimless - thx. why did you resurect a couple of my old critique center posts? oh well maybe they'll get new cits...

clueless sketch- hmmm... well if your refering to the mummy one thats alright because i did that on purpose. it makes the mummy's shrivled corpse look even skinnier. plus his mouth is opening ridiclously wide too.

k here is a piece i did in only an hour or so, then sent it to this contest (Coloursoft USA (http://coloursoftusa.com/))and hoped for the best. which happened to be third place! enjoy...

A wide variety of work here of varying quality - but this is what makes you great! You're trying everything and learning - pushing your knowledge further each time. There's so much progress being made, keep it up! Like others have said though, make sure you keep some time for the 'boring' serious stuff too - anatomy is really important and it'll push your creations to the next level.

Rockhart
January 7th, 2008, 11:42 AM
Connie Cane - thank you!

thek - thx for the comment. don't worry im still keeping time for the boring stuff, but i probably wont post any of it ;)

k, this is getting hard to find any new images. pretty soon I'll actually have to draw some more! :) jk working on a big piece right now that is taking up most of my drawing time... enjoy and crit!

Thanks for looking at my sketchbook.

This is a nice start. You are do your share of studies, but most importantly, you are not afraid of trying something new.

The leaf study/drawing is very good. A big difference. I'm going to guess that it took a while. It looks like you slowed way down, and thought about every step you made. Excellent.

Perhaps you should try the same thing on additional works. There is nothing wrong with spending six hours on a drawing. Try another study, maybe a shoe, or something just as interesting. Try to slow it way down. Make sure that every line is just where it belongs. Don't settle for less. If you get frustrated, don't worry. You can try to push throught it, but there is nothing wrong with setting it aside for a while and calming down. We can all benefit from studies like this. (others may disagree, so take it with a grain of salt)

Rockhart
January 16th, 2008, 10:41 AM
Sedig-actually alot of the pieces i've put on here have taken longer than that leaf :[ both of the magician pieces and the lake are 14x17 and very detailed. the waiters and some other ones too, but maybe it's confusing cause i mixed them with some sketches and rough drawings... oh well

redid the soldier in illustrator for fun. :)

hey rockhart,

some really cool stuff you've got going here. you seem to have a really modern style in some of these, which is always going to look good.

one thing that kept coming through though, was proportion. I find it useful to think about the number of heads high the average person is supposed to be, which I think is around six or seven. Some of your figures have rather large heads, and look short because of it.

another thing is symmetry, not in a design sense, just in a base-construction sense. the heads on a couple of your characters get a little uneven, such as your grey red-eyed man holding the .45 (who looks really badass by the way) just something to keep an eye out for.

your bottom two drawings, the one of the alien-esq character and the grim reaper are really strong, especially the first one. his head might be a little big, but he's so obviously not human it doesn't really matter on him. its just a solid drawing all round, so nice work.

just keep on drawing, the more prolific you are the faster you'll improve!

Either way, these are very nice pieces. I'm very partial to the T-shirt design you have going at the top of the page!

I usually try to follow sketchbooks, but I lost track of this one until now. Sorry. I guess my previous comment didn't really work out quite like I planned. The leaf study is just that- a study. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you were really trying for accuracy. Though the other pieces may have taken longer, like the magician piece, it is a stylized piece. Accuracy isn't an issue in the magician piece. What I was suggesting in the last post was more studies like the leaf. They will only lead to better and better personal pieces.

If I still didn't quite get this right, or if you have questions, feel free to yell at me.

YES. My favorite thing. I especially like "the circle of life." All it needs is Elton John.

I used to be guilty of the margin doodle, particularly during the first two years of high school. Then, someone introduced me to a wonderful thing: the pocket sketchbook. Every time I got bored, I would whip it out and doodle in that. I still carry one around with me. If the teachers confront you, tell them it's a day planner. Teachers love organized kids.

I think they can be found for a cheap price at your local walmart, or wherever you shop. Try it out. If you don't like it, mail it to me and I'll use it. If you do like it, good deal.

I'm a fan of these last doodles. They make me smile, and I like that in art.

"Johnny Got His Gun" is such a terrifying story. I read that back in eighth grade, I think. Messed me up. If you feel up to it, maybe do a more developed illustration. It would have a lot of shock value, and it could be a really thought-provoking piece.

Rockhart
February 3rd, 2008, 10:29 AM
sedig- yes! why can't art be funny! hmm... i don't know if i have the guts to do a "johnny got his gun piece"... or the arms, or the legs :) but we'll see.

Go ahead. Make it daily. I dare you. I double dog dare you.

The elephant part of this last drawing is very nice. Your lines seem very confident for the most part. Good deal. Unfortunately, the background on this drawing doesn't work. On the bright side, mistakes are a good thing if we learn from them.

Rockhart
February 4th, 2008, 09:38 PM
Sedig- Ummmm.... not wuite ready for that. i was just bringing up the point that iv'e posted almost every day so far. :) however that day might be soon... by the way what don't you like about the background. i like the fact it's rough and makes the elephant "pop" out...

k, I've worked on this a little bit more.... u like? :bashful:
(btw the building is finished so any comments about what i could change about it to make it better would be great)

295570

Sedig
February 5th, 2008, 03:46 PM
Hmm. Perhaps it works better in real life. I spoke too hastily and harshly in my previous post.

On my computer screen it reads as very greyed-out. Maybe it's because there is a lot of the white of the paper showing. I think that if that elephant were on a black background it would pop even more. It's that whole contrast thing.

What I really think is that we need some more opinions on it. I may not like it merely because of personal taste. Others might like its roughness, or something else entirely. I would like to hear from other people on this.

Rockhart regarding u'r vectorial work
The composition it's kinda messy and i mean that u'r eyes are cought by that flash in up-right corner ! what's about with that white spot anyway ? it's too wide and too white for the composition !

I really think u put too much details on those ruins ... it's like a complicated puzzle, many many small things used improperly are hurting the eye of the viewer !

From where are those bricks in the low-left of the image ? there is nothing similar, those are definitely from another story !

U'r vectorial work looks like a collage but i can't figure out a meaning for it :) so if u have time put down in words the story/ concept behind u'r work ! Keep it up and have fun !

Ps: i really like more the first version of u'r vectorial work ! it's a better composition !

Rockhart
February 6th, 2008, 10:35 AM
Tiberiu- yeah that piece is still a WIP.... i think im going to make the zebra bigger and add a second destroyed building in the background. as for the ruins... their supposed to be a mess :) but we'll see how the final project turns out... as for the story. Im kind of going for the whole Humanity and the destructive nature of mankind, especially in africa. if u notice the zebra looks a little out of place amongst the debry, also he has a broken heart on his flank. trust me once it's done it'll look awsome :^^:

Now Sedig had a good point. I would like some other opinions about the elephant sketch and it's background. i think it works, he doesn't... any body else? maybe i should also mention that i was going for a quick background to help the drawing standout more.

Rockhart
February 6th, 2008, 10:27 PM

Wow, your vector work is really a lot better than your drawings. If you want to get better at drawing, the fastest way is to draw from life, or from photo reference.

I like your vectors a lot, if you enjoy doing them, I highly encourage you to keep exploring them, they look great so far.

The sad piece is interesting. Would you be willing to explain what is happening in it?

Also, on the vector piece:

I don't know how these work, or even what they are. I do know that he zebra looks excellent, and so do the buildings. Only one problem for me- They don't seem to fit together. Would it take a lot of work and time to give the zebra a cast shadow on the ground? If not, it could really help anchor it.

Brewmaster
February 10th, 2008, 06:34 PM
The Zebra piece is looking great. It does need some shadow though. (and perhaps just a tiny bit more detail in the debris... perhaps some texture in the outer wall of the half standing building. Just like what you have in the brick textured piece of debris)
I like your Rube Goldberg device too! Very inventive!

Keep up the good work.

Rockhart

Brewmaster- don't know if im gonig to add any texture to the buildings, might make them standout to much. but yeah, expect an update in a couple of days! :^^:

Matsign
February 14th, 2008, 02:51 AM
The Africa warzone illustration came out real nice. I'd get a print of it. Befpre I do that it looks like you have some objects in your background building that are showing white space or have a white stroke (through the windows). I wanna say the same thing about the broken heart on the zebra.

This has a lot of personal touches to it that make it very enjoyable. I think design is all about graphic subtly. Have a powerful voice through you're art.

Sedig
February 14th, 2008, 09:37 PM
Hey, that shadow really makes a difference. Good to see.

If you are willing to take it, I have one more suggestion: play with the size of that heart a little bit. It might be my computer screen, but it seems a little small. I wouldn't have known that it was a broken heart if I hadn't been told. I don't think it would be bad if it extended into the white stripe, but I don't know. If it isn't too difficult, give it a shot. That heart is a nice subtle touch, so you don't want it too big, but you do want it to be clear. See what happens.

Rockhart
February 14th, 2008, 10:44 PM
Brewmaster- Thx!

Matsign- good eye about the windows and heart! but i took a closer look at it and that only happened because i resized it down and it pixilated, the higher res. looks fine. im going to assume "Have a powerful voice through you're art." is supposed to have a "you" in front of it. and thank you very much! :)

Sedig- Thx! well, the pic is a little small because i resized it so my slow dialup (28.8 kbp warrior! Woot!) could post it within a half an hour. I also played with the size of the heart and decided it was better to leave it smaller... but that's just my opinion.

k, well this sketchbook's starting to take off! here's another sketch to keep things moving. i start'd drawing the head and then... well... let me show you...

Sedig
February 16th, 2008, 02:16 AM
Dial-up. Ouch. Could you give me an approxiamte size of the vector piece. I imagine that seeing it full size would make a big difference.

On that last character one thing really stands out to me: the length of the legs. They are very different. Try to be conscious of this next time.

I like the idea of the ruined city piece, but I don't know if I like the integration of the word change- hopefully you can get the piece to speak for itself. I suggest a composition that is much closer to the eagle and also much closer to the city. Give us a clearer idea of what is going on. Communicate the need for change through the image itself.

Rockhart
February 17th, 2008, 12:03 AM

I think the picture you drew for our duel looks nice but it would look much better if the backround wouldn't be totally white. (It looks a bit like a cartoon or comic)
Anyway it's a nice picture.

Quick toss back to the Zebra: While it does have a shadow now, the chunks of rubble that fall into the shadow are not shadowed; only the ground received the Zebra's shadow, for some reason or another.

Shouldn't take long to fix, but it would make a difference, I think.

Those last hand studies are fantastic. The variation in line weight makes a big difference. Now that we've seen your quick hand studies, I'd like to see some long hand studies. Work on one for as long as you can stand. A lot will be learned.

Good for you, taking a class.

About drawing ADD: I know exactly what you mean. I get all antsy and nervous sometimes, and I feel like I just need to stand up and leave. When I have to work for long periods of time, I really try to calm down, and remember not to worry. It's okay to stop drawing for a bit, then go back to it after a short break. The important thing is going back to it. Just have fun with a long study. No pressure. You have all the ime in the world.

Just a couple of ideas on the last one:

It looks like his cloak/blanket is open. Nothing wrong with this, but I think that if it was open into the wind like that it would be billowing out a whole lot, and he would be cold. I guess I'm suggesting that you move the opening so that it isn't facing into the wind.

Also, I don't know the topic for the challenge, but he seems out of place in his surroundings. Maybe put him next to a fire, or a tree, or a rock, anything. He kind of looks like he's just shivering out in the middle of nowhere. Bring him into his setting.

I really like the look of this one, and I eagerly await the finished product.

Rockhart
February 26th, 2008, 08:34 PM
Sedig- well I tried to make it look like the wind was coming at his side... lol and his setting is the middle of nowhere :P (oh and it is done. check the crusades page if you want to see it before i put it up here...)

Concerning the city/savanna scene:

Are you going for a harsh contrast, or a gradual change? What is the goal behind the piece? What are you trying to communicate? These are qustions to keep in mind...

As far as crits go... you need to conscious of relationships between objects. Take, for example, the size of the door as compared to the power line, or the windows of the front building compared to the others. Sizes in perspective will mess you up. I'm also going to suggest looking at some trees, both those in the savanna and those in the city. Using ref for these will make them look a bit more natural. Just make sure that they stay relative in perspective. One last thing- don't forget cast shadows. You need some cast shadows to anchor those forms to the ground.

Sorry if it was too long.

Bummer about the lack of visits. Have you been visiting lots of other sketchbooks? A few years ago it wasn't nearly as bad, but anymore you have to visit so many sketchbooks to get even a few replies.

It's great that you can come up with scenes like this. The imagination is there ::: now it's just technical stuff. More practice will lead to more improvement. Push for a more defined space next time- give us a distinct foreground, middleground, and background. This will give us the depth we need.

Good for you. Now you just need to work out some proportional issues. I usually try to avoid critique that focuses on a specific part of anantomy, as it is generally just a matter of practice and effort on the part of the artist, but: your heads seem to be consistently large. Try to keep on eye on them.

Also: done any lifedrawing lately?

I like your style of drawing dude, the images look like they could sit nicely in a comic strip... why not try producing a small cartoon sequence ? try out the some facial gestures/expressions, i think you could produce a real stunner :D

Rockhart

TheWookieMonster- Thanks man. I've actually been brainstorming a few ideas for some comics but... they never get much past the idea stage.

Sedig- actually I have been doing some life drawing. And my figure drawing class is still going on for another two weeks. unfortunatly we draw on 18 X24 tablets ... so my scanner is a little small to put those up :( but rest assured I'm doing them! Yeah somethimes my heads tend to get to big, especially when im doing a more cartoony style.

k, here's a little something out of the ordinary... so I had this CD that had some usless stuff on it. I was about to throw it away when I noticed that the blank side was so shiny... and clean. well here's the result!

OK I've decided to take a break from the crusades. They were really fun but they were taking up all my drawing time... :(

Anyways I was bored during my english class and did a few scribble faces. I'm sure you know how they work just close your eyes, scribble something, and then try to make it look like a face. Entertaining and easy to do when you don't know what to draw. Second sketch is a quick study out of a magazine.

Even if the quality isn't excellent with your digital camera, we can at least see what you're up to.

Also- what kind of crits are you looking for? Do what to know what's wrong with each individual piece, or do you want broader thoughts? What is your goal?

Rockhart
March 10th, 2008, 07:20 PM
ok as far as crits go I'm not looking for "OMG that's soooo cool!" (although it is nice from time to time...) I'm looking for more of the constructive criticism. most of the time I have a general idea of things that I should probably change/fix but I like it when someone reinforces that or points out something I didn't notice. broad thoughts and opinions are accepted too :)

there... now all I have left to say is PLZ comment!! if you don't like what you see tell me what I should change so the art will get better! that (and more practice) will make it better eventually! k, since TheWookieMonster requested it here's a comic I did...

Sorry I haven't been around in a while. No legitimate excuse.

Congrats on the logo. Is it actually going to be used, or was it solely for competition?

I really like the Calvin and Hobbes piece. Something about the stationary pattern appeals to me. I'd like to see you apply this same idea to some of your earlier linework. I don't know how well it will work with serious subject matter, but with something comical I think it can be successful.

Just some thoughts for that last WIP: I know you like, and effectively employ, a more cartoony style, but I still recommend a few changes to the birds. On Earth, those birds couldn't fly. The biggest problem is the wingspan. Try launching those wings out much further. Look at some pictures of birds of prey, maybe. Also, what kind of mood are you looking for? Do want the birds to be menacing? Comical? Both?

Rockhart
March 19th, 2008, 10:08 PM

Brewmaster- I tried "de-wobbling" the neck and I actually like it a lot better. Thx!

You kept busy. Good to see.

Life drawing is delicious. It's great to see this from you, and you are doing a great job.

Also: I'm a fan of the patterns, but maybe try simplifying a little bit. Pick one or two patterns, and use a flat color for other areas. Experiment with different palettes too. Try to create something really cohesive, or something that really clashes, or something in between. Use you judgement, have some fun.

Rockhart
April 4th, 2008, 10:49 PM
sedig- ahhh good to hear from you. Yeah the patterns can get confusing sometimes but i think if i play around with the right size and direction of them i can get it to work. at least it's intresting yes? anyways yes tey are very fun to do. as for my life drawings... that's going to be the end of them for a while (mostly due to the fact that the class ended) but i did learn a lot.

Maestro Andres
April 5th, 2008, 11:12 PM
Hey dude, have fun going through your SB pages. Like the ideas and style you have going on, some were really funny to as well. Don't get me wrong, the graphic type of style with flat colors and patterns is enjoyable, but in the long run it will help you skill wise in doing more pieces with actual shading and volume, the same way you are doing with your life drawings. Just a suggestion.
Other thing to point out is that when you deal with more than one character or element in the same piece, don't forget about the perspective. In some of the art crusades one, the perpesctive of the chars quite don't fit well. I believe in one of the Loomis Books, he shows some gives guidelines to get this correct.

Anyways, keep up with the life drawings, those are a great way for improving.

Rockhart
April 6th, 2008, 05:49 PM
Maestro Andres- Thx! Yeah I know the pattern drawings need some work... (maybe alot of work) and the best thing for me to do is practice traditional art more but.... that's just not as fun. :) Anyways I'll start all of that when I go to College (hurray for art class!) next fall. And thanks for the perspective tip. I've noticed that sometimes my figures can look a bit... um wonky sometimes. :P

hey rockhart, I like that ninja a lot. It might be nit picky but I'd suggest playing around with your stroke ends to bevel on the eyes and try some different brushes that illustrator has in its artsy library for a background. I think you would have fun with those.

The sp is okay, its got a massive neck and you don't so much. You're shoulders are wider than the drawing too.

k here's a couple more movie stills (these are pretty fun!) The first is just some random pics. from "Batman" but the next two are from the Kung Fu movie "Curse of the Golden Flower" (not a bad movie but the costumes are phenom.) and btw this might be all for a while because I just got my wisdom teeth removed. so right now I'm still on novican but in a couple of hours... >_< so adios for a few days! :dead:

Yes, don't hesitate, your soul-striptease is the fun part of this thing :P

Your control over values and your pencils in general are getting better each post! You gestures are yet very stiff, though. If I were you, I'd do some gesture-drawing (and I don't mean Loomis-stickfigures) and explore body-dynamics. Go wild!

Yeah, you're right, I don't. But I come close. I just like to give you a hard time. Website works well, but there a few images (I think they are in the "graphics" section) that failed to load. Also--I'm glad to see the anatomy studies. I'm sure that you will see progress in your imaginative stuff.

~Faust~
July 13th, 2008, 04:38 PM
Hmm your anatomy-studies look a bit awkward, maybe you should try to draw from some actual (I wrote sexual, hehe. But seriously...) reference. Those Mannequins look like those limbs are thrown onto the hibbones without actual knowledge about the interaction of bodyparts. Under the tutorials there's a life-drawing tutorial that sums the contructive approach up pretty good<.

- basic shapes (Cubes, cones)
- interlocking (How arm goes into shoulder, shoulderpads into back, etc)
- Gesture-dynamics (Using lines to sweeeeeeep)
- tone

Or something like that. Anyway, you should take those more seriously. Study the muscles before drawing them that rigurous.

About drawing with a tablet, there's always the Photoshop-painting thread from Bumskee. I think it's within the PS-seciton but it pretty much applies to every major digital painting program. You'll find all the basic exercises you need there.

On another note, your update from the 6th is sweet man! I especially like the B/W toons, nice motion going on there. And the Spiderthor is awesome too!

July 20th, 2008, 07:26 PM
Yeah Prismacolor markers! I really like that still life. The lines are confident enough that I'm not bothered by any technical errors, and the use of tone is beautifully subtle. I definitely want to see you playing with these more.

Rockhart
July 21st, 2008, 11:17 AM
Mr. Gadbury - Hey! long time no see indeed! thx for stoping by! hope to see you on here more often. :)

Sedig - yeah I like prismacolor markers alot to but they're so expensive so I only use them for big, finished pieces. (which I don't do a lot of) but yeah I might play around with them some more... and thx. that bottle drawing was very fun to do since I don't do still lifes all to often.

K here's a political cartoon I did not to long ago to build up my portfolio so I could submit it to a few local newspapers and do cartoons for them. Right now I've only gotten one response (and a tepid one at that) but I'm remaining hopeful =)

417949

Sedig
July 21st, 2008, 10:28 PM
Prismacolors might be expensive, but they are a good marker. If you treat them right, they will last you a long time.

Then again, you say big, finished pieces... How big is "big"?? I usually work in an 5.5"x8.5" sketchbook with mine, so I don't end up using a whole lot of ink.

Rockhart
July 22nd, 2008, 12:09 PM

Wow, you're making that watercolor obey. Nice job on that.

Just a thought--I know you like to keep things controlled, but watercolor lends itself to "happy accidents." You might try letting it go a little bit. Play loose. You can always tighten it up with penwork if it gets too out of control.

Rockhart
July 30th, 2008, 12:27 PM

~Faust~
July 30th, 2008, 02:36 PM
Very impressive! I like the shadow of the figure, I'd advice you to not use your color everywhere! The thing with watercolors is, that like with pencils, the white of the paper is the best hightlight!

Hey man. I checked out your site - hope you dont mind a crit about it in here.

I think you should scale the whole thing down by about fifty percent. I had to do a fair amount of scrolling, which shouldn't really be needed for a gallery site. Specifically, your navigation is huge! Check out some other srtists sites, and you will see that there is no need for anything to be so huge except maybe the images work itself.

Cheers, dude!

Hmm be care ful about the color-yob you do in PS don't treat it lightly. I'm more the fan of a strokey approach but even when just filling in colors like you did here, you need consistency and those scribbles around the finders and the hill aren't helping.

Sorry to sound negative but it makes me sad that it looks so rushed. I know you can do better than that, just search for some pointers from other artists ho you want to do your colorjob and go along with them for a while you'r learning aren't you?

I'm loving the cartoons. a couple of things I noticed on the most recent one however, one is the spelling, there are a couple of errors there. second is the first shocked businessman sitting directly across from the choking guy, his body seems a bit rigid and emotionless, if he's witnessing his colleague being force choked, he might jump back a little bit and spill some coffee, his body just seems sort of indifferent and relaxed. other than that keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing more

The amount of work you've done so far is commendable! I know when I was a freshman in college I scarcely gave up time to do any artwork (regrets anyone? lol) besides for classes. Keep it up, your anatomy studies are coming along, do more and more of these as many as possible if you really want to improve the way you draw bodies, it's something that you can easily see progress in over time.

Great stuff, keep it up! :D

hey, thanks for coming by Rockhart. I hope school isn't killing you slowly.

Rad T-Shirt design, I hope you keep shooting for new designs. designbyhumans.com is one of my favorite sources for new Ts.

I like your cartoon stuff with great colors and creativity. For you illustrator stuff, I'd check into using varying brush strokes to give your art some variety and spice. Or explore some traditional inking marks that you can then trace later.

The newspaper stuff is great.

Do work on top of assignments, and when you don't have school work. You'll get better. Promise.

I see everything here,.......comics; doodles; T-shirt layouts; Water Color etc,....
