I just got a new Cintiq today and I am having a bit of an issue getting things to display on the screen.

All the tablet itself will display is my desktop background. None of the desktop icons, nor the toolbar nor any application I open like Photoshop or Internet Explorer.

The pen tablet itself works fine, and I even managed to get the pen calibration screen up on the tablet for a few minutes.

I'm having trouble finding the answers in the manual and on the Wacom site and I am hoping someone on here had a simillar problem and figured out how to fix it.

Thanks much!

Are you using it with a second monitor? Its possible the computer thinks there is a second monitor attached and is displaying everything in that nonexistent space.

can you bring up the display properties and see how many monitors are listed on the settings tab?

Hey Kreed. Yes, I was. I suddenly understand now.

For some reason I just assumed the Cintiq would mirror my regular desktop. And when the desktop background showed up minus the icons, that's what I thought it was trying to do.

But it's not, it's two workspaces now.

Can I set it to mirror the same on both monitors?

Anyway, you clued me in. Now it works. Thanks!

Thats how you want it. to mirror would mean there are two cursors on each monitor doing the same thing. you then lose the advantage of having your palettes/reference/launchers on one monitor and drawing on another.

If you want your icons and taskbar on the cintiq you can always drag them over.

Right... yeah that makes much better sense.

For some reason I just had it in my head that it was going to be like splitting one video signal between two TVs.

Thanks again.
