Since the beginning of art, seen even in the earliest caves inhabited by man, weapons have been an integral part of our art. Though some might not see it as well as others, most video games, stories and movies wouldn't be where they are today without the hero wielding his trusty sword or firing off a handcannon. So, with that said, we shall start the WOTW, the Weapon of the Week. Each week, we will give you all a theme to do, and it is your job to create that weapon. It can be any style, from devastating orcish iron to elegant French steel. At the end of said week, we will take the weapons, and hold a voting poll for another week. The winner will be chosen by your peers.
This week, we will be working on a weapon that is deserving of our first WOTW. As this is the first, we should also use the first weapon ever conceived by man, the spear. There are literally hundreds of variations on the spear, so coming up with a unique idea wouldn't be to hard. Some popular spears are the partisan, the trident, the naginata, and the halberd.
So, with that said, let us blacksmiths of art begin this challenge! Good luck!
RULES:
The weapon must be your main part of the picture, though you can have other things in with it.
This can be made in any style of art, even 3d modelling. Hell, if you got the skill and the speed, make it from real metal for all I care. Might get you brownie points.
No stealing from other sites. Trust me, I know most of the weapons on Deviantart, so only use them as reference if need be. If caught stealing, you will be reported.
Other then that, no rules. Be free, and have fun.
