I am the writer for a comic book that is in development with a publisher and I need to assemble an art team.
The book will be approximately 32 pages/month. I will need an agreement that the artist chosen will stay on for at least the initial four issues, but am looking for a longer partnership. Payment will be a part of the proceeds, following the standard industry split (same way I am paid) -- if you are able to do your own inks and colors, you will receive a larger part of the split. If the publisher requests concept sketches beyond your portfolio, I will pay you for your efforts for an amount to be negotiated based on the publisher's request.
I am looking for high quality sequential art with a realistic style. The story takes place in the modern day, in various locations (LA, New York, Hawaii, etc). The artist must be able to adequately portray intense action and fight scenes, as well as emotion (facial expressions and body language). Artists we associate with this style are Travis Charest, David Aja, Steve Epting, John Cassaday among many others. Not Manga!
If you are interested, please e-mail me at jetmac629@gmail.com with a link to your work. Do not e-mail me samples, simply send me a link.
Thank you all for your time and consideration.
