These were for my final project. We needed 3 protagonists and 3 antagonists with their weapons. I used the first image for my main character, and the 9th image my main antagonist. I don't like how I inked these, so I want to re do them since I have the time now that the final is over.

These are my newest drawings. The first three started out as me drawing a a very gaudy ring, then a small hand study. The others are for an idea that I have for a Legend of Zelda fancomic. I used Prismacolor markers and Copic Too and Sketch markers.

Most of these were done yesterday and last night. The chibi was just me trying to draw something cute. The "Doggie" pic was supposed to be a flat dragon and turned into a doggie with a weird looking fishy.

The elf with the glasses is another Ivan sketch, since the character is supposed to be a bit of a bookworm. The rest are just sketches of Link from Legend of Zelda.

The two Wii pics were drawn today. The smaller Wii pic was done properly with a ruler.

New stuff from an actual sketchbook. I just bought "People and Poses" that has a lot of photo reference for comic artists. Even though I'm not going into that field, I saw the type of dynamic poses that I wanted to do so I bought. It also came with this great CD with more pictures than in the book.

My professor pointed me to ImagineFX and I've been practicing my photoshop skills. My coin turned into a weird looking drum-honeybun thingy. I still haven't been able to use this way of painting to do at least a face yet. bah.

Just a face after getting frustrated on a profile in PS.

Thanks. I don't draw anime anymore. I stopped doing that a long ago. I'm still trying to move away from that style.

This was for a practice in drawing child faces and expressions. Also for a character design. I only have one done right now.

354387

And this is the hairstyles I came up with. I think I'm gonna go with the fourth one on the top row for my char.

354388

random dress/corset thumbnails.

354389

This was gong to be a scene but I didn't like how the body turned out after I blocked it out and just started to draw the torso.

354390

random thumbnails.

354400

I'm not sure if I'll finish this one. I don't like the lower body now after I haven't seen it for a few weeks.

354394

Another character design. His name is Jester and he's a villain.

354392

Big Head. Strange shoulder placement.

Profile practice:

360345

Scene with the original sketch first. My professor red lined the legs since I was having trouble with the jumping/twisting figure over the dragon's fire:

360342

Then I scanned that and made it blue in PS since I was almost going through the paper:

360343

And the revised sketch. I don't like the body at all and I'm not sure what to do with the dragon either.

360344

This is another Zelda fanart with apossible coronation scene. I don't know what to do with the hair yet or how the fancy embellished head dress is going to come out.

took a peek in here, i like your work, really great eye for detail. Do you use the inkt in a painting program or on paper?

Kya Hill

Thanks! :teeth:

No, I do it all traditionally. The only thing I can do with my tablet is color.

Some 3D stuff I did last quarter in Intro to 3D Modeling:

An Environment:

426893

426894

A Sword:

426923

This isn't the final version of it. The final version has a red gem in the center of the hilt, but that was made in MAX 2009 but my school only had 2008.

My turnaround for my sword:

426933

A Hand:

426895

I have no idea where the final version of this is either.

A space ship:

426919

A Quadruped(Deer):

426924

1 Ref for my Quad:

426930

And a Biped:

426922

Ref for my biped:

426927 426928

Some 3d stuff from intermediate 3d from this quarter:

My Kitchen:

426935

And some objects that we have to do every week:

426936

A top view so you can the pencil and eraser:

426937

Most recent one:

426938

That thing in front of the lotion and to the left of the suitcase is supposed to be my wallet, but it looks like a burrito. bah.

I like your stuff! I'm not an anime person so much, but I enjoy looking at it. My brother is much better at it than I am. Your portrait has quite broad shoulders hehe.

Keep up the good work. A little advice. When you make figures in 3D, try to have your edges follow the contours of major muscle groups. That makes the model come out much smoother with less polygons.

I saw your deviantart gallery. Do more Avatar pics is all I have to say. I may stop by from my account: myucka.deviantart.com

See you later

A few of my projects from my Intermediate 3d modeling class from last quarter:

A restaurant:

510214

510215

We had to model 2 robots from the movie WALL-E:

MO:

510216

GO-4:

510220

Final: My Creature an elephant-centaur Lapis Lazuli:

510213

Close up of his shield and weapon:

Can we upload Quicktime or flash movies? If so, do we just go through the attachment manager?

Finally found time to update this thing.

These is from my advanced drawing class the 2nd go around. We weren't allowed to actually render our drawings, just to use contour line to show form.

The first two are comics demonstrating how to tie a show and to make a pb & j sandwich to a ESL person.

701969

701971

This was an in-class assignment of drawing a classmate and making a scene from that.

701967

This was to draw yourself as a robot.

702009

An interaction w/ my prof, that's me in rags and my prof as the genie.

702008

Our death scene

702005

A tree

701972
And my final a simple landscape.

702007

And these are from my painting class. The first three are acrylic while the rest are watercolor.

Still-lifes

701977

This is a lamp w/ a flashlight btw.

701982

701987

Air-ship, also my very first water-color painting.

Your studies are looking good; I really like the four panel / different styles idea.
It would be cool to see more of those I think.

The figure's pose here could be so many things,
so I can't wait to see where you go with it
(if you are planning on developing it that is).

Keep up the good work

These were illustrations that I did for an independent study this quarter. All 6 were supposed to be part of a visual narrative. They were good enough for me to pass but only 1 is solid to act as a portfolio piece. My professor told me that I need to tighten things up and take more risks, which I agree on.

Good work so far. Your traditional stuff looks a bt skewed, but that can be fixed by using a slanted surface like a draftng table :)

Kya Hill
December 27th, 2011, 03:17 PM
Something new! It's another hybrid creature based on a peacock. I can't decide if I want a fully human face or place a beak on his face. I also plan to model this creature when I get my concept done.

I like your environment concepts but they need more spatiality, try to use a clear horizon and 1 or more fix points ;)

Kya Hill

Did more of the sketch on the 27th and started making the base in maya for about a week or so now. I haven't decided if I want to give him a beak or just have a full human face. I also started thinking about the if I want the wings attached the the human arms or at the connection of the hips to the bird body.
