Jo!

2 years passed without posting anything in this section.
But the stuff i'm doing right now, for the pen&paper rolepaying game Degenesis might fit in here. I learned a lot so far and working together with Tobias Mannewitz, Klaus Scherwinski and Eva Widermann is a big inspiration. All of them are drawn on A4, except the fifth one was A3.

great work man! the values flatten out on some, like the first enviro which feels like it needs a greater push on the heirarchy for the depth to read convincingly. I love the design work, and always captivating to see how a different artist takes on the degenesis universe.

Something I especially like about your style is how believably cluttered it is.
I like all the doo-dads hanging from the figures. The incredible amount amount of junk, straps, pouches etc. seems authentic.

Love the work. Love the balance between highly polished focal areas and the looser, rougher backgrounds etc.

cool pencil skills there.
i agree with form about the rendering tweaks to make really pop out some elements and buildings and to appreciate depth better.

enjoying the stuff. seems like you are having a blast with this.

The way you handle your clutter is amazing, it always seems believable but I can't point a finger as to what makes some clutter look noobish, and what makes your clutter looks usable and believable.

I know it's random, but your clutter skills sort of define you.

You remind me way too much of Marko Djujevic, which isn't an insult obviously.

Love these pieces.

Great work! Love the seeing you pencils Skureal. I think you could use some more darks just for more depth, as mentioned before. Let's see more.:yum:

I would love to see some ink work, if you have any. You seem to plan what your doing very well, I couldn't imagine handling so much clutter, but you pull it off amazingly. cheers.

Hey Henrik,
I thought I knew how awesome your work is but you just have to keep blowing me away with even more awesome art every time. I love the fact that you don't render out every detail in the environments. Maybe it's like your work is more defined by what you leave out than what you add to it. The empty/not-heavily-rendered part make the rest come out stronger... I'm not making sense, am I? Anyway, It's good to see your art, it reminds me of the "old days".

Cheers.

I can`t even begin to imagine how the hell one get a hold
of such Pencil skills... well, Chuky - you need to draw MORE and do some LESS roaming aimlessly through the world, you Dumbass...
:teeth:

anyway - great designs on these, and the intricate attention to detail is mind-boggling.

I`d like to see some of these in full blown color one day, perhaps.

thanks for sharing Bub.

Love how the sketchiness blends into the rendering. A real nice example of how one doesn't need to render everything to make it a "complete" work.

Thx a lot for all the response, guys.

-->Form: While i did the first couple it became very clear with the values and i started to watch out for that much more in the recent ones. Thx for pointing that out, i can't agree more.

-->L. Lanham: Thank you, and hell yea cluttering is fun :)

-->SEVANS: Many thanks!

-->Barts: Thx!

-->Villa: Jop, like i wrote for Form that is very good critique and i take that in mind. And def. blast indeed, such a project just kicks your butt to do stuff to get up to all the other high quality illus that were done for Degenesis.

-->speedysam267: Cool, nice to hear that.

-->Pavel Sokov: Hehe, sry but the word "clutter skillz" just made me laugh first time i read that :) Thank you for the compliment. And Marko's stuff made me interested in Degensis, no doubt about that.

-->Lone Wolf: Hey man, thx for dropping by and yes below are some more recent works.

-->Pickles: No ink works. Those stuff for Degenesis is simply just pencil and i love that :) But good idea, would be different and i would just do linework and not render it out that much all the time. Can't help it most of the times, i just start rendering before the linework is even finished.

-->spookybabydoll: Cheers! Thanks man.

-->dem0n: Jup, see below :0)

-->Troll Skelking: Thx!

-->Stoat: Checked out your stuff and really like it! You got some badass inks going on. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated.

-->theQuill: Nice that you like, thx.

-->bhanu: Sweet! Thx, mate.

-->Blue Disciple: Puh, never thought about adding color to those. Well, it won't benefit the art direction of Degenesis which is black,white and red text :)

-->KidApe: Nice to hear you like it.

-->Sept13: Now that's a compliment! Thx a bunch.

-->patdzon: I try to fit my stuff as seamlessly as possible into that world. And both set up important visual guidelines within the project. Thx!

-->Gilles: Hey! It's been while. How is life? Nice to see you post here. And yes you do make a lot of sense. Dankje well for the kind words. We should really talk about "old days" some time again and about whatever else. :)

-->Chuck,mate.: Thank you! Don't think color will happen for those. They are done for me and i move on to new coasts. Dropped by in your sketchbook. Very nice stuff.

-->Rod28Pereira: I use normal wooden pencils for the shading and mech. pencils for details. But in general i grab what's there, so no real system behind all that ;)

-->chobomaster: Thank you.

-->shaoshao: Much appreciated!

-->DSillustration: Oh i'm sure there will be more, but first some vacation. Will be off next Friday..hell yea. :) For now just a few more recent ones below.

-->Rabid Peanut: Thx for the motivation.

-->Viny: Cheers! :)

-->PiercedLogic: I'll do my best to to do more for sure.

-->Faradoon: Thx a lot!

-->ArtZealot: That project has a lot more chars than environments and i gonna try balance that out a bit more. Post apocalyptic stuff provides a lot of freedom in pretty much everything. Can't think of any other style or "time" that has only that much few unwritten rules you need to stick to in terms of visual appearance. Thank you too very much, for your comment.

-->yelahttam: I'm affraid to say but they won't be any color for those :)

-->Shirozora: Nice words! Thx!

-->Living Rope: Will do that next time! He actually visited me two weeks ago and me had some time to talk and god and the world. Was a lot of fun and he is such a cool guy. But i don't see all those guys very often. Game-fairs seem to be the best place to meet.

--> Leo Snow: Thx a lot!

'bout time you posted these here! :P yeah, man it's great to see your latest works online, always fun to go by your corner at work and see the originals hanging on the wall.
They all got something special to them that screams of your love for art and dedication with the pencil. Personally I like the sheet with the faces a lot and the full character shots. Keep mutilating them pencils, that'll lean'em!
