Any one have any invaluable resources concerning id? I'm scouring google and its been pretty hit and miss (as is anything on google).

I'm thinking about books, links, important figures in industrial design... that kind of stuff.

Thank you

Hi! I'm an industrial design student. :)

For us, the Core77 blog & forums are invaluable. Just about everybody reads the blog thats updated several times every day.

I recently read the book "Designers are Wankers" which had some interesting insights on things, mostly the transition from school to "real world".

And I've just cracked open "Industrial Design Techniques and Materials", which looks promising. Seems to start off with the history of ID and then moves on to talk about manufacturing and things.

Oh, and there's this one, really really good book on drawing/rendering with markers that is practically the only decent book out there on the subject. I'll have to get back to you on the name of it. (I have it, just need to dig it up)
But this is a good website for some books:
