Hi!
I was looking for a software or plugin to convert photos into realistic drawings.
I'm not convinced by the results that I obtained using some well known photoshop plugins.
Does anyone know if such software exists?

I've yet to see a converted photo-to-drawing in Photoshop that was convincing. Most just scream PHOTOSHOP FILTER!!!!
Save your money on the plug in and hire an artist to do a decent rendering for you. You'll be much happier and the work will look decent.

It's not a plug-in as such, but you may get some kind of result similar to what your after by scanning in diffrerent paper/canvass sections and overlaying them with a blend mode (multiply for example). Like Mambo says, there isn't any good filter...this may be another way to fake it if you really must though. Another way to get some kind of fakery on the go would be to do some real subtle paint-over with some of the more painterly brushes in photoshop, that would take a little more skill and a good eye but if you had the touch im sure it would begin to make people question "photo/painty?"

Try Gertrudis Pro
It's a fantastic tool for this purpose. Its use is simple, and provides a rich variety of effects. Right now there is an open beta which you can download:
Gertrudis MX (http://www.gertrudisgraphics.com/wp/?p=51)
While it's in a beta stage, it's quite usable.
