Colours more saturated on export

I never really noticed it before, but whenever I save something to jpeg all my colours become more saturated than when I'm working on it. Any idea what this could be, or if it's even avoidable?

maybe u are working in CMYK then saving as RGB? colour setting? that's all I can think of...
